Vidya Balan is one of the strongest actors we have in Bollywood. Like the characters she portrays on the big screen, she is even fearless off screen. She never shies away from stating her opinions on the matters being asked.
Recently, a leading tabloid questioned Vidya on the Kangana Ranaut controversy where she called filmmaker Karan Johar nepotistic.
To which, the talented actor revealed that even she has rubbed celebrities the wrong way too.
She stated, "Thankfully, I never landed into any trouble, [at least] publicly, but have been reminded of it in my interactions with them later."
Balan even added, "Missing out [on working with me] is absolutely their loss. These things don't stop good roles from coming your way."
Before foraying into Bollywood, the actor made her acting debut with television. After her decade-long career, the actor now feels a sense of belonging in the industry. She said, "I've had to work towards it, but I've earned my space here. As a newbie, I knew nobody. I don't make friends easily. I am social, but my close friends are those I met in school and college. I have almost no industry friend."
For the Kahaani 2 actor, banners and cast are not that important and she finds them secondary.
She said, "I will work in any film if the script is good, not because a superstar is associated with it. Banners and superstars [associated with the film] are peripheral benefits."
Vidya supported Kangana's thought when she said that actresses are sidelined in films which feature the three Khans. She called such projects, "designed to ride on them." đ
