This certainly seems to be true, because time surely has flown as Star Plus show Ishqbaaz hits 250 today. Congratulations to the entire team!!!! While there were several factors that made Ishqbaaz one of the most loved and popular show on Indian Telly with each passing day; one cannot deny the truth that a majority of it has to do with the central leads story - Shivaay and Anika's love story their Ishqbaazi'.
Shivaay and Anika's journey started with hatred but today it has being replaced by love; and with every day that has passed in between this transition from hatred to love, the couple has experienced every emotion, every feeling one can only comprehend making the journey memorable. Tonight's episode aka the 250the episode was a fitting ode to "ShivIka" and their journey so far. It not only gives us a glimpse into what the couple has been through but also what is in store for them.
In perhaps one of the simplest in media res the shows' narrative has ever seen we see Shivaay thanking Anika. A grateful smile on his face, a twinkle in his eyes Shivaay thanks his wife for something as trivial as getting him coffee and his clothes. In her usual filmy andaaz Anika replies there shouldn't be words like Thanks you' or Sorry' between a husband and wife. This simple, subtle gesture from Shivaay of saying thank you and Anika's of heartily acknowledging their relationship highlights how far the duo have come. From arguing and fighting like cats and dogs to wanting to slit each other's throats to standing by and up for each other to feeling emptiness without each other to fighting for each others' happiness, respect and life; ShivIka's Ishq has seen some of the most beautiful shades of love and during their journey ahead they are expected to see more.
Shivaay and Anika have been attracted to each other for quite some time now, they may not have expressed what their heart feels or their eyes have already confessed a 1000 times but slowly they are getting there. Earlier in the show if Shivaay tried to get intimate with Anika or held her or pinned her to a wall etc. it would have been to prove a point or to intimidate her. However, today all of those and the 100 other actions have only one meaning behind them - LOVE.
Romantic Shivaay is too good to be real but he is real and the past few episodes, especially the 250th episode has emphasized it time and again. Today, the man who did not believe in love but was a romantic at heart (ShivIka first back hug anyone?), who never explicitly showcased his feelings or emotions (except for his dadi & siblings) is all about Khullam khulla pyaar karenge hum dono'. Every second he gets to be with his better half, every stolen moment, every unspoken glance and word screams - ROMANCE and he does not shy away from them and neither does he let her. Flirting, romancing and enjoying their new found marital bliss all the while retaining the essence of the couple that ShivIka are (Kudos to the writers); every scene these days are a treat to the eyes. Today's Tai tai phis' moment is an example of the same. While it had all the makings of a typical ShivIka scene, there is no denying the fact that it was laced with romantic undertones.
But what added more meaning to the scene was Shivaay acknowledging his Biwi's contribution in his success when the latter quotes the famous saying Behind every successful man there is a woman'. It seems unreal that Shivaay Singh Oberoi actually credited someone other than himself, but this is not the khadoos SSO is he? This is a man who believes in love and who is falling in love...who has learned the hard way time and again that with Anika by his side he can successfully overcome every hurdle that life throws his way.
At this point it is impossible to say if there will be a redemption track or not for the numerous stunts Shivaay has pulled on Anika; but it was genuinely nice to see how uncomfortable Shivaay was when Anika casually reminds him of his past actions especially when he switches into revenge mode. Feeling uncomfortable is not exactly feeling guilty but it is a start nonetheless. Shivaay can't change what he did in the past, every pain he has caused her or every tear she has shed because of him. What he can do is make up for it... all of it; and somewhere he is making amends for everything in his own way.
What's a ShivIka moment without some drama and emotion? In today's climax scene we get perhaps one of the best ShivIka moments ever on Ishqbaaz where Shivaay acknowledges Anika's Never give up spirit' as her biggest strength and most unique quality. This is coming from the very man who tried every trick in the book to break Anika's spirit. The fact that she was tenacious, that she never gave in when the going got tougher was something that Shivaay both loathed and admired. He loathed it because it made it that much harder for him to get what he wanted which is something he was used to; and admired because breaking her spirit was an impossible challenge even for the great Shivaay Singh Oberoi.
Today when Anika fell weak because of the Fake Shivaay' drama, Shivaay not only makes Anika aware of this beautifully strong quality of hers, but also admits that her never giving up spirit is what keeps him going too. For a man who put up a facade before the world, lest it would see what truly lay beneath; admitting to the very woman who he once tried to break that she was his strength takes a lot of courage. Shivaay couldn't have said it any better what Anika meant to him. Similarly Anika couldn't have stated it more clearly as to where her heart, duty and loyalties lay when she chose to walk out with Shivaay when he said that he should leave before the fake Shivaay walked back in.
What the outcome of Shivaay and Anika's mission will be is something that viewers will have to wait and watch; but if one goes by the events or rather the ShivIka-licious moments of the shows' 250th episode then there is no doubt that this love story is one that is going to make every fan, every viewer out there fall in LOVE!!!
