I respect your opinion but revenge for what?? there is no motive for revenge... agreed suman ruined his application form but his uncle's contacts got him into the college so that hardly matters... and if you mean for losing marks on the project, well that's ranveer's fault...he refused to work with suman not vice versa and she had in fact completed the presentation by herself but gave him credit by siting his name on the presentation but ranveer was honest to accept he made no contribution whatsoever, resulting in them both earning 0 marks - he can't take revenge for that since its his own fault. So that leaves ranveer with no motive for revenge.
Plus, the main reason this can't be a marriage out of revenge is because ranveer since day one has been shown as a good and honest guy - although his mum cares about status and money - ranveer in that sense isn't spoilt... yes he did make fun of suman along with the entire class for her lack of dress sense (according to him) and her inability to speak proper English but he's never mocked her for being middle class.. in fact he really began appreciating her and respecting her once he learnt the troubles she's faced since an early age - it was an eye opener for him since like suman once rightly pointed out, ranveer has no idea what life's struggles can involve as he's been born in a rich family where everything is given to them on a plate. They don't need to struggle and work hard for it. Having said that, ranveer doesn't have an ego nor does he flaunt his money.
His feelings for suman are genuine and he has fallen in love with her...though as a viewer I don't think he's yet madly in love with her - IMO he respects her a lot and as he's got to know her he's seen she's the perfect partner for him - he's somewhat become a little mature too not greatly but there has been some maturity in him since he's learnt about suman's past...
it'd be interesting to know why you feel suman isn't an appropriate match for him? Agreed she brings a child into this marriage with her, but that shouldn't be a problem, especially since one the Mittals are a rich family and can financially provide for this family, and two which is in fact the most important reason, Veer and Ranveer have actually bonded very well - they share this unique bond since the day they met, and at that point ranveer didn't even know he was Suman's son... ranveer wants to marry Suman for many reasons, not just because he's in love with her or because she's the type of life partner he wants, but because he also wants to be a father to veer and give them all that they are losing out on. I actually like how he puts Veer and Suman's happiness before his own when explaining to Manan why he wants to marry Suman and then in the OLV, we will see before allowing Suman to put a ring on his finger, he puts a ring on Veer - accepting that Veer is an integral part of his life now... its a special moment and signifies a lot in terms of Ranveer's feelings for suman and this marriage...
