Oberois were not always rich. I believe its tej, along with shakthi who build oberoi empire. Dada ji is from a middle class family. So is pinky. So kameeni studying in the same college as shakthi is still believable.

Acp and kameeni may not be related but looks like have a connection since long time. May be same neighborhood dwellers? Kameeni has a soft spot for acp and acp too has some attachment with mahi and kameeni.

Mahi seem to be a pawn in the entire set up. He does not know what acp, his mom (until makers shows us that, she is not) and possibly Daksh master mind plan is. I donot think he even knows the real reason that shivaay was kidnapped. He thinks its done for money. Milk as much as u can in Shivaay's absence sort of.

His mind is poisoned against Pinky but not against all oberoi members. If there is a relationship to Oberois ( which i strongly blv mahi is twin bro of shivaay) mahi is not told abt the same.

This track is definitely to address Shivaay's prejudice - NKK. I feel Annika's words, u born into oberoi family is mere luck will play out.

The makers have taken good measures to portray mahi as mirror of shivaay. But still they have kept some coomon traits also. Like loyality to family, goodness of soul and inner strength. So f mahi was given the same opportunities like shivaay, he could very well be SSO. Its just the play of destiny that he is now what world calls him- characterless , najayaz.. This title could have been Shivaay's. If kameeni had taken shivaay away instead of mahi. The name that he is so proud of, which he never gets tierd of claiming is all worthless. He just got lucky where as his own brother got trashed.

Imagine a guy who takes pride in being a good brother, protector of his younger siblings, gr8 wall of shivaay, gets to know his own brothers destiny and how helpless , guilty that will make him feel.

Whatever he is enjoying today, is at the price of his own brother..

Shivaay who always believed in blood, lineage will be deeply affected to know his own blood, is associated with all those that he treated as scum. Sadak ka kooda.

This will teach him to look more into a human and inner goodness than to just go by nkk.

This trk is thus all abt shivaay. His growth as a human being. This will also help him to come even closer to Annika..

After all everything that happens in IB somehow has to end up strengthening Shivika..

In all this my one and only complaint is that makers are spending too much time, effort and screen space establishing mahi. They cannot continue with this twin track for very long. Mahi will come to an end. The makers will make some of us feel for mahi, some of us may even fall for his troublec soul. But does he have a permanent place in IB? No. So why give him so much importance? Why try to capture viewers heart? For trp? Or do the makers have bigger plans?

Whatever it is it cannot be any bigger than the main plot, ie shivaays ishqbaazi. Annika's own ishqbaaz. They cannot deviate from that plot.
