I feel sorry for Dev!

Dev as a child was constantly told that he needed to grow up quickly and take over the responsibility of running the house .He was almost brainwashed in to thinking that he should just keep fulfilling responsibilities! Somewhere in the process he missed out on his childhood and became his Mother's right hand person. So far so good! Time passed. His Mother forgot that Dev is now an adult man and an adult man needs companionship! When Sona came to his life, she looked upon her as as a toy that according to her distracted Dev from his responsibilities. In short, for lack of better words -Ishwari bullied Dev! A lot of times when a person gets bullied, he also turns out to be a bully himself. As even seen in season 1, Dev did a lot of things that a bully would do to get things his way.

Coming to my main point,

Dev without Ishwari is so different! He is himself. He has flaws. Just like Asha said, he is not perfect at all. Yet one also gets to see an affectionate side of him. He is caring to Sourav,Soha,Asha,Dadi because that's his personality trait too. That's his core personality which often gets hidden when he is in the same room with Ishwari. Some people bring out the best in us and some people bring out the worst in us. Unfortunately Ishwari brings out the worst in him. Her presence constantly pulls him down. The sad part is that in life if you have people who bring out the worst in you, you avoid those people. But what do you do when it is your own Mom who has sacrificed so much for you and whom you love so much brings out the worst in you! What do you do then!! I can only feel sorry for such a person! Its a humongous task for such a person to believe that he deserves something, fight for it against that same Mother and yet keep the Mother happy. The only people who understand that are Asha and Sona. But they cannot do anything unless Dev himself starts believing that by wanting some thing for himself in his life, he is not betraying his Mother.
