Pari's a diehard Saif fan. It probably was a very big film for her. 😆

From her interviews I always got the feeling was banking a lot on it.

Parineeti Chopra is a self-confessed diehard Saif Ali Khan fan. In her last visit to the Bombay Times office, she had unabashedly said, "I cried when Saif's character died in LOC Kargil. I am a real crazy fan and am ready to play even a tree in a Saif-starrer."

^ Nope, I still think she was talking about KJo's Tapori movie. Because she gave that statement about not doing Piku in Jan 2014, and KJo announced the name (Registered the name) of his movie in Feb 2014...

Someone who is doing a KJo movie will never call a Saif starrer a "very big movie", even though she's a huge fan of Saif.

2013 was Pari's year after Suddh Desi, so KJo cast her in his directorial. Then HTP flopped, Dawat flopped... I remember we were guessing KJo will drop her if Kill/Dil also tanks... And he did. He announced ADHM in Nov 2014.

Nothing at all lol I dont think she tried too hard, and now she knows she has to go all out, because she has competition...But acting wise she is way better than Shraddha, so all she has to do is market herself and audition for good scripts !!

If she really waited for a Ranbir Kapoor movie and lost other movies because of that, then my hunch about her is right. She is way too meek and in awe of the insiders and cannot take smart decisions. For god's sake she spent a year getting in shape when that wasn't really a problem for her career. Doing a movie with Ranbir is not the only way of getting successful. When she started and claimed all her academic qualifications, I was impressed and thought of her as smart and confident. But lately, I have realised that she's pretty under-confident and just wants to fit the popular actress stereotype.

It doesn't take 2 years to figure out that once you're out of sight, you're out of mind. She has to keep doing something to stay relevant. Silly girl.

Oh for God's sake, you don't leave the industry ever even for a year. It is not a common sense decision. Nobody waits for anyone. Out of sight is out of mind and connections are broken. Blaming Ranbir, Saif or any actor for her own stupidity is a mistake. If she wanted to slim down, do it for a movie. Find a role where it is needed. Even if it is small movie. Work on it and then show her slim figure. There is constant flux in industry with new girls trying to make a mark. 😊

Beside she said she did not want to do Piku because she did not want to play Amitabh's daughter. She did not have faith in the director but DP did. KJo movie story came out later to hide her own error. That is how history are made. One person's stupidity gives a huge break to another.
