Yeah thats true. Qutubuddin Aibak had made this minar as sign of victory of Ghori over Prithvi. He had destroyed a large number of temples and had used stones from demolished temples.
Btw according to one version of history, originally Prithviraj built this tower so that his daughter can see the sacred Yamuna River from the top of the tower during her daily worship. However many historians do not believe this to be true.
