Jhanvi and Maya are very similar yet very different. Ashwin sweet-talked Jhanvi into believing he still loved her. He mistreated her most of the times and just used her for money but then the moment he felt she was going to cut him off he would start telling her that he loved her and was sorry for his mistakes. Jhanvi's problem was that she fell for that all the time. She was just weak and too much in love with Ashwin to see through him, and even if she did see through him she chose to be in denial about the truth.

Here Arjun is not pretending to still love her. He is straight up telling her that he hates her and wants out of the relationship. Maya is simply choosing to not listen to him and rather be on her own deluded bubble where she thinks he is still in love with her and is just troubling her because he is angry. Maya's condition is more psychological and an actual mmental issue while in Jhanvi's case it seemed to be more that she was just generally an emotional fool in love.

Agree about Arjun's character. It's not fleshed out enough for me to feel anything for him. We don't know if he actually ever loved Maya the way he claimed he did, we don't know whether he married her for her money, we don't know how much of his feelings for her were actually a result of the wealth and power she signified for him, we don't know if he harbored any hidden feelings for Saanjh, we don't know if he ever tried to get Maya medical help or if he simply brushed of her condition as madness and tried to break off the relationship. We still don't know so many things about him so it's really difficult to empathize with him currently. You feel bad for him on a human level but then you don't know if he deserves this or not because you don't know the entire story yet.
