Rani Mukerji visits a bereaved Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at her house

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father Krishnaraj Rai succumbed to his illness and passed away on March 18, 2017. Many of her industry friends were by her side to support her during these trying times which included Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Twinkle Khanna and more but there was one shocking inclusion that surprised us all.

It was none other than Rani Mukerji, as confirmed by a source close to Aishwarya. Our source reveals, "Aishwarya was visited at home by many of her friends which included Rani Mukerji, Mana Shetty (Suniel Shetty's wife) and Kokilaben Ambani who consoled her."

This surely is surprising, given the past between Aishwarya and Rani because of Rai's husband Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek was reportedly dating Rani Mukerji and they were apparently going very strong but ultimately they broke up. There were many rumoured theories as to why they broke up but we still don't know the actual reason.

Ultimately, Abhishek ended up marrying his beloved crush Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and they now have a daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. Meanwhile, Rani got hitched in a secret ceremony to filmmaker Aditya Chopra and they have a daughter Adira Mukerji Chopra.

Well she doesn't need to ..Ash needs Rani now since rani has an upper hand as the producers wife 😆

Btw this back stabber thing ..Rani was the first choice for chalte chalte but then dates din match, she stepped out,ash came in..When ash stepped out ,SrK called Rani again and she sorted out the dates and came aboard...Y will she lose a film coz of frndship...If she had said no ..Then preity wud HV stepped in..

Whatever people may say here. I hope Rani and Aishwarya become friends again, if not besties like they used to be earlier. That said, it will not only be a mature decision since both actresses have moved on, are famous and should also give another chance to each other for their old friendship. Also, it was a really nice gesture from Rani to visit Aishwarya in this difficult time. May God provide Aishwarya the strength to bear the loss.

Keep believing in that story. If she could "sort dates" later why couldn't she do it before? And before 2002, she was mostly doing stupid Govinda and Anil Kapoor movies, she would give have given her right arm to be SRK's main heroine in his home production. No way she would pass it over. If she had such a serious dates issue, she would still not be able to accommodate it in her schedule because the film wasn't delayed when Aish was replaced.

Aish needs Rani now? How many movies did Aish do with Yash raj as a heroine in her 20 year career? Not ten, not five. Not even two. Just one. She will do more than just fine without Yash raj. In fact anyone would be better off without Yash raj considering the shite they have been producing over the years. Cannot think of a great film they made in recent past. It can only be used to give Rani work, because no other producer is willing to cast her.

And this is news because...? I fail to see what was the point of this article or why the media is trying to create drama. Out of common courtesy and human decency, we put aside hatred or whatever we have, and pay our respect for the loved ones that have passed. At least, have some respect and leave the drama out of this. This whole culture on celebrity bereavement is sickening. I truly believe it's an invasion of one's privacy especially when one is in grieving.

Well she did pass on movies like lagaan,dilse and chalte chalte ...Glad chalte chalte worked out and yes if I wud have been in her place ,I wud have left her dil Jo pyaar karega in the middle and jumped to lagaan but she din 😛

And we all did see how ash performed in those movies recently ..Yrf or no yrf ,Rani's performance is flawless and always critically acclaimed..It's not that Adi is acting in place of her. it's Rani's talent which has got her this far ..Even alia is getting opportunities by kjo cos she's a damn good actress unlike Sonam whose one I hate love stories knocked sense into karans head and he never repeated her 😆

@ Italic: That's your assumption and so I strongly disagree with it. Moreover why things are being dissected for something like this?
Can't people just accept that it was a nice gesture of Rani in this difficult time to visit Aishwarya!
May be they are not even thinking all this nonsense. Really it's time to move on from this past.
