Baradwaj Rangan hands down is the best critic we have today. He is the only critic who is sharp, incise & knows how to actually critique films.

Zero to all of them . I have my own brain to watch and decide how a movie is

Same. I love Sucharita's reviews. I think they are well balanced.

I don't know about biases but they all have very different sensibilities, so that's probably why you see very different responses from them. Reviewers like Anupama Chopra, Rajeev Masand, raja sen and Baradwaj Rangan are very Hollywoodized...especially Raja Sen. So I feel like they enjoy movies with more western sensibilities, where emotions are more subtle, and there is more subtext to the scenes. Basically the multiplex movies. At the opposite end of the spectrum are KRK, Taran Adarsh and Komal Nahata who enjoy traditional Indian tropes, and movies targeted to mass audiences. So I think it's just a different taste in movies and what they grew up watching.

Agree. This is why I like critics like Anupama Chopra and Rajeev Masand but after Befikre review Anupama lost serious credibility. That movie was atrocious, especially Ranveer's character. She praised Ranveer so much. I am still shocked thinking about it. She recently did moonlight review and I love how people pointed out so this wonderful Oscar film only got .5 more than Befikre. 😆
