Shayad a matter of convenience.. like instead of saying three words - 'Indian Film Industry' ..Bollywood is just one word na..

its(Bollywood) inspired from Hollywood. and Bollywood is India's Hindi language film industry but not Indian Film Industry. India mein aur bhi languages and WOODS*(Film industries) hain.

*tollywood, kollywood, mollywood, sandalwood, jollywood...😆

...Its the "Hindi" film industry that is called Bollywood...

It would have been way more offensive that it is now if the entire indian film industry was called that 😆

Anyway... probably because the hub of hindi film industry is B se Bombay.. Toh isliye B se Bollywood? 😕

IDK... its just a guess 😆
