So what are we to make of the hospital scene in todays episode? Where Maya's face completely changed to a sinister one and she whispered "Im sorry" to her mother.

Was that just to make us think shes the killer?

I think the cvs are making us think that Maya is the killer.
I don't think that her saying sorry is enough to prove that she is the killer
Even jhanvi had said sorry to ashwins photo but that didn't mean she was the killer
I still have doubts that she can't be the killer

Because Maya knows that jhanvi saved Arjun's life before, so that eliminates the fact that she attacked her cuz she tried to hurt Arjun
Let's see what happens in the future

But I'm happy that beyhadh is back on track

That part is not revealed for what she told sorry to Jhanvi. If Maya had been the killer, why would Jhanvi call her to the godown?

There is literally no suspense left if may turns out to be the killer
