How can outsiders get a chance?

I was wondering this from wrong so finally thought that I should make a topic here about this. Nowadays, we see the sons and daughters of yesterday stars getting launched by big producers. In recent years, so many star kids get launched. Other then star kids, we have seen those girls/boys getting movies who have been in a relationship with a famous actor on bollywood.
But I wonder why does not bollywood launch people on pure talent merit? We have great stories like Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar who hailed from lower class families but made it big. But those stories are very rare especially nowadays.

So now what should those outsiders do who have enough talent, looks, and personality but don't have any connections and do not belong to star family? How should they build connections and get chances?

I am against nepotism but there is obviously something going on behind the scenes.
I think actors from star families/wealthy families are seen as less of a gamble in that if the film makes a loss their families are rich enough to cover some of the cost.

Or they invest money in the production of a film on the condition their child gets cast.

I don't know.

Many BW families especially with sons launched them in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Raj Kapoor launched all three of his sons, Dharam Paaji launched Sunny and Bobby. I don't know whose son Kumar Gaurav is, but I think he was launched by his dad too ? I don't know who launched Sanju baba. Aamir was launched by family and so was Hrithik. Not sure about Salman, but someone who liked Salim saab did so perhaps ?
Point is, all these families spent their own money to launch their kids. It is like that now in the Telugu industry. But in BW we do not have film families launching their kids, friends seem to do that. Question is, are they paid to do that ? Was KJO paid by Bhatt saab to launch his daughter because he knew KJO would do a better job in launching a mainstream actress ? Is Boney paying KJO to launch Jhanvi because he knows KJO would do a better job than him ?Did Ranveer's father pay Adi as alleged to launch him (not discussing outsider/insider thing here). Did Anil pay ROM to launch Harsh ? Point is, are parents paying film companies or producers to launch their kids ? If so, insider or outsider only the rich can afford this unless they are a friend of the family. I have a feeling some of it is true.

As for how outsiders would do it, I say only the ruthless and exploitative way works. Kangy is a perfect example of that.

Actually you may be right!
Those BW parents probably offer money for their kids to be launched or get lead roles in new movies.
Like they know all the big shot BW producers and directors so they ask them to give their kids role in a new movie and they offer to sponsor part of the movie

Or just as a favor to a family friend...like if the BW kid's dad is friends with a producer or director he can ask as a favor ke merey betey ko launch kar do please

Many times dad himself launches the kid or some producer/ director who is friends with the dad launches the star kid or industry kid just because of the family name.
Then they can advertise their film as so and so's beta or beti is in this film.
Its really unfair to all the talented newcomers, strugglers, outsiders who are deprived of a role because of these industry kids.

Nepotism is not a new phenomenon in BW, Kapoor family started it long ago...first came Prithviraj Kapoor, then all his 3 sons became actors after him, then Raj Kapoor's all 3 sons, Shashi's 2 sons and 1 daughter also tried in movies, only Shammi's kids never bothered. Then later Rishi's son Ranbir, Randhir's 2 daughters also came, though I heard Kapoor family didnt help Karishma's debut in anyway.

Kapoors were famous for Kapoor Bahus don't act, hence Neetuji and Karishma's mom retired. So they did not support her and she had to face casting couches including Subash Ghai's per rumor.

This was not true about Jennifer Kapoor (Shashiji's wife) though as far as I know. They kept acting . Don't know much about Shammiji's life except his wife too was an actress. Not sure if she acted after marriage.

Shammi's 1st wife Geeta Bali was a popular actress and she continued acting after her marriage into Kapoor family until her death at only 35 yrs age from small pox.

Jennifer was of British origin and acted in her father's theater company Shakespearana...she also continued acting sporadically after marrying Shashi...she acted in some critically acclaimed movies like Aparna Sen's 36 Chowringhee Lane, just before her death from cancer in 1984.

It seems Kapoors got more regressive with time as Neetu quit acting after marriage but recently shes also come back to movies but acting with hubby Rishi only.😆

You're right I was wondering the same. I don't see why Karan Johar would launch JHANVI or some others if he was not paid for it.

Its pathetic that money is put over the talent

True you're right. Although I still believe Salman Aamir struggled to make their place. They did not get everything served in platter.

But outsiders stars have been very few. I just don't think how would anyone launch Harsh, Athiya, Sooraj, Arjun etc. it does not make sense.

Aamir didnt have to struggle at all, he was launched by his uncle, famous producer Nasir Hussain and directed by his cousin brother Mansoor Khan in his debut film QSQT ...he was launched by his family.

Ohh I had no idea. What I meant was he struggled after his debut.
