Many BW families especially with sons launched them in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Raj Kapoor launched all three of his sons, Dharam Paaji launched Sunny and Bobby. I don't know whose son Kumar Gaurav is, but I think he was launched by his dad too ? I don't know who launched Sanju baba. Aamir was launched by family and so was Hrithik. Not sure about Salman, but someone who liked Salim saab did so perhaps ?
Point is, all these families spent their own money to launch their kids. It is like that now in the Telugu industry. But in BW we do not have film families launching their kids, friends seem to do that. Question is, are they paid to do that ? Was KJO paid by Bhatt saab to launch his daughter because he knew KJO would do a better job in launching a mainstream actress ? Is Boney paying KJO to launch Jhanvi because he knows KJO would do a better job than him ?Did Ranveer's father pay Adi as alleged to launch him (not discussing outsider/insider thing here). Did Anil pay ROM to launch Harsh ? Point is, are parents paying film companies or producers to launch their kids ? If so, insider or outsider only the rich can afford this unless they are a friend of the family. I have a feeling some of it is true.As for how outsiders would do it, I say only the ruthless and exploitative way works. Kangy is a perfect example of that.
I am sure they are. Why will anyone be so altruistic to launch others kids? Promoting them once they show some spark is a different matter.
Earlier BW families would launch their own kids. But that trend moved away to someone else launching them. This trend I think started with SLB launching Sonam and Ranbir. They told sad stories of their "struggles" during the promotions and after. Its a different matter they always knew he would launch them.
However I think people who have a reputation like Adi or KJo are more selective while launching starkids as compared to people like Salman who launches just anyone. Thats why these two didnt launch Harsh or Armaan Jain though they are well connected and had the money too. Harsh or Armaan maybe launched by other directors/producers but I am sure their parents financed those movies.
Coming to how outsiders can get a chance-its mostly if they have some sort of work ex. So TV stars or stars from other industries get a better debut compared to complete newcomers. If the newcomers parents know the biggies then it gets easier if they have money like in Ranveer's case.
The other option is like Sid M who is supposed to be KJo's toyboy. Nargis also was having an affair with Imtiaz and Jacky with Sajid N/Sajid Khan.
