Hello ladies,
I have been mulling over this whole bullheadedness & selfishness of a certain Mr. and have even ranted about his obnoxiousness.
And then.. I shifted perspectives.. and lo behold! I realized everybody do what they want in ZKM esp. the Sharma clan.. as in stubbornness and selfishness are not traits exclusive to Shaurya (unfortunately for him).
Case in point - and not in any particular order
1. Mohit - You oneday decided to get married to Sonal, presumably to help her out of trouble, refused to listen to every valid argument put forth to you by your parents and sought your so called Jija's help to fulfill your pigheaded stance. All the while, when Shaurya was insulting your family in front of the media, you chose to remain a mute spectator, only to meow a lot later, to just well.. to show the audience that you did meow!
Wasnt Mohit stubborn and bullheaded to get what he wanted, at any cost - causing lasting damage and scar to his family? Why blame Shaurya.. Mohit phir bhi apna tha!
2. Mehak - Our own Delhi-6 spun desi doormat. She has been extremely stubborn in her pursuit of Shaurya.. paying no heed to her family or voice of reason. Again, this Sharma displays an attitude of I want what I want and I shall get it.. she plays a different game and acts all kind, does not directly confront her family, sings a tune of 'his abused childhood' to get what she wants.
Different means to the same end!
3. Nehal - The entire Ajay episode reeks of selfishness. A guy who refused your sister, yet you choose to cavort around with him. Even after the wedding was fixed, you did not consult your family, but still tried all means to stop the wedding by going to the extent of talking to Pammi. An attempt at suicide too reeked of self centredness with no care or thought spared about your family or your sister.
All young apples in the Sharma basket share similar traits..
4. Balwant - the grandfather
Again the Ajay episode, where he blackmails the whole family into accepting his decision of getting Mehak married to Ajay, wins the case I make hands down. Ego and dogmatic PoV are his hallmarks.
5. Ravi chachu - the less said, the better.
Only Kanta chachi, Jeevan and Mansi have not given me any fodder in this regard so far.
So, I am forced to reassess my view of Shaurya. He is the loudest and the most flamboyant of all, who is also unapologetic about his character and behaviour - hence gets the max brickbats. he is bad - he knows it and he owns it.
The rest, as I mentioned, get away under the various garbs of sweet talking and soft portrayal.
