Yes I would love to see Maya wear skirts, jeans, dresses and all but why are we assuming that she is ''sacrificing '' on anything. She was a certain way and had a certain look in the beginning of the show for a reason and it was not about being a hard core business woman.. that look, monochromes and straight cuts reflected how Maya was back then..she put up a bold, no non sense front infront of the world to mask her inner vulnerabilities..and her look was part of that characterization..she was not a very happy person.. she suffered from insomnia, had anxiety attacks.. yes we loved her because she seemed like a woman in control, a symbol of empowerment.. but was she really? she cowered and shivered at the slightest sound of her father's footsteps.. Now she may be dressed in colors and delicate sarees but she is more real.. someone who doesn't have to pretend to be strong by her attire or mannerisms.. so really, I have no issues in what she wears as far as the character in the show is concerned.. but yeah, just for glamour sake, she can wear western outfits.. though sarees can be as glamorous and trendy.. sorry for the long post..
