Yes Rams , this one line certainly sums up the entire Uttar Kaand
Though what happened with Maa Sita was most unfortunate , even more unfortunate is the blaming of Ram for this by modern day writers
It also has to do with the way in which we apporach the epic
For instance , the people who blame ram for Sita exile , do not praise lakshman for not letting his wife urmila go through the hardships of forest , instead he is blamed again for ignoring her and leaving her behind
Exactly, it's hypocrisy at its best.
And do you remember the proton gang's hypocrisy during the whole vanvaas track? Apparently, SKR Ram's obstinacy in not taking Sita on his vanvaas, to the point where he leaves her in tears, is preferable even to the epic (and original) Ram, because the epic/original Ram "gave in too easily" to Sita's request. Apparently, giving in too easily and letting Sita come with him to vanvaas was selfish of him, because it made it seem like Ram did not care for her comforts, and yet, these same people blamed Lakshman for leaving Urmila behind, because he did not want her to face hardships in the forest.
So if Ram is selfish for "allowing" Sita to come with him, why is Lakshman called heartless for doing the same thing they wanted Ram to do?
