Yeah, Shivaay's NKK is very much alive and kicking. It kind of pulled a rug from under our feet, but this is the crux of the ShivIka relationship.
For those who don't know: on the DBO episode today, Shivaay had a conversation with Omkara, where the latter attributed the changes (for the better) in Shivaay as because of Annika's presence in his life. Om asks him to just acknowledge that he feels something for her.
Shivaay does acknowledge, that he feels concern, and care and worry for her, but I don't have a name for it. Om shakes his head and looks away. Shivaay says, he knows nothing about her, her family, her origin. Whatever he feels , he can't see her as the mother of his children.. "There is no future for Annika and me..."
Whoa, he went as far to think of that? Not bad Shivaay? At least he thought about it. That's something huge.
So, he has no name for their rishta. That hurt me a lot. Felt really sad for Annika, given what Pinky is doing to her on a daily basis. Also , this girl is trying to help the family by exposing Tia, so that they can say a heartfelt thank you and a gift.
No, I don't think Shivaay is heartless. If you watch the scene, you'll see the melancholy in his eyes. He's in unrest. A battle is going on inside him and it will continue.
He still won't be able to let her go. Now his reluctance to answer her relentless questions makes sense. He feels a kinship with Annika, like best friends who'd die for each other. Any more than that, will grow with time.
Annika loves him, honestly and simple.. She understands his prejudices, and tried to give him a way out through this ML plot, which he didn't take. Why he wants to play faraq padta hai with her I haven't the faintest idea.

Suddenly, the scene where Annika weeps to Sahil about how she didn't want to be in love with Shivaay, takes an incredibly poignant turn. I dare say if I watch that scene now, I'm going to cry buckets. Sahil innocently asks her to try her luck, try to love him, see what happens.
But she is pessimistic. "Shivaay wants even his enemies to be of same status as him.. let alone love" She cried about how this love will hurt her and she fears she won't be able to pick herself back up from it.
There is more to come, "to be continued" he said. Whether or not they overcome their NKK hurdles is the journey next.
Big hugs to all those who feel sad today, it's okay. Shivika is angst and mature love, it will be a good watch. We can see they love each other, and will do anything for one another.
Recall, he had tied mangalsutra twice (third upcoming), so her leaving is going to be tough. As her sister Gauri comes into the picture, surely her story will come to the fore.
I wonder, if in the end, it becomes about whether SHE is willing to accept him, being an Oberoi. Both sisters are joined to this family like fate or karma. I wonder.
