Happy Birthday Aamir Khan
I didn't feel Baji-Nasir confrontations were innocuous skirmishes. They must have introduced it to lead to the track of Baji confronting and conquering his fear of death. Personally, I felt it could have been dealt with in more a sensible manner without this Marathi-vs-Mughal undercurrent. But I agree with you about Tarabai. While all the other characters seem easy to slot as black or white, Tarabai feels real. I have always liked Pallavi Joshi since her Mriganayani days. She is doing a very good job. And Balaji's plans are always intriguing. I love him for his spunk and wily nature, especially in the face of his equally abled nemeses. I hope they introduce some kind of arc in the story instead of the run of mill Marathi-vs-Mughal where one is only good and the other is only evil. That would be sad, because it introduces too many uni-dimensional characters. And the costumes and setting is really superior. I love the way they use bits of Marathi into the dialogues. And Anuja Sathe carries off those nauvaris very nicely. Baji and his mom's bond is shown so beautifully that my heart would break when he would antagonise his mom over Mastani.

No. Balaji has to establish himself first. Shahu has to be retrieved from Aurangzeb's camp. ( why doesn't he live in a palace??). Tara Rani relegated and Shahu made Chattrapati. Till then we will have the bachcha party alongside with various incidents that build Baji's character.😊
