Jolly LLB 2 has had a good hold on Monday as collections will see a drop of 45% apprx and be around 6.75 crore nett as per early estimates. The hold is good but the weekend growth did give the film hope for a better hold. The business of the film will be around 54 crore nett after four days. The Monday performance is the best of the year as the biggest opener so far Raees had grossed around 6 crore nett on Monday. The biggest plus for the film is that it is Valentines Day on Tuesday and this could give collections a boost. It may not be a romantic film but still the day has seem more footfalls come it then the other days around for the last few year.
This puts it in line to be the first hit of the year though it will have to hold after Valentines Day and more crucially it is the second Friday that will tell if the film becomes the first and only HIT of 2017 so far.
The collections picked up over the weekend in places like Mumbai, Rajasthan, CI and Mysore but these areas were down to low levels again on Monday. The North is driving the film and it has worked well especially in Delhi NCR and East Punjab. If it was a normal week without Valentines Day the film would be looking at 70 crore nett total but with a solid Valentines Day collection it could go a little higher.
I feel that the WOM seems to be in the mixed to positive range, around 56% WOM score as the Monday collection is approximately 56% of Friday's collection. It seems the film will touch-and-go the 100 crore mark.
