Hats off CVs, you guys are awesome , 16.2 episode is my most memorable angst episode to date. You guys rock.
Episode starts as Mrs. K came and served Shivaay divorce papers to separate him from Annika. As usual the whole family comes, because the more the merrier. I never missed Omkara and Rudra with this intensity before. Useless bystanders they all are. One more time Dadi talks Ishqbaazi I will stuff her dupatta into her mouth. (Kidding, I don't hurt old people and babies)
Shivaay is livid. I mean, who the hell is SHE to tell him to sign papers?? Bloody cheek of the old bat. He is obviously cheesed off , and his mom steps in and calls Annika "pagal ladki" , like WHAT!? She is SO stupid, she can't even act with dignity to save her life. NBs have her catalogued well, useless and a pushover. She is even harder stuck in her prejudices that her son.
They have the nerve to suggest that at the event of the wife's mental instability, a man can get an expedited divorce !!?? Like W T H ... Mr. K and Shakti should have gotten rid of their two insane wives a long long time ago too then. but there it was, in perhaps the ugliest manner, KKT finds out that Shivaay was divorcing her. Dadi puts her 2 cents, and gets shut up saying the divorce has been signed and already in process.
Everyone joins in the "get rid of Annika, Shivaay" chanting. The two of them were like an island surrounded by predators.
(See what happens in the background: Shivaay tells Mrs. K and Pinky to BACK OFF, and he'll take care of Annika. And Mrs K blatantly reminded Shivaay of "Their Last Conversation", and how he SHOULDN'T be fighting this divorce. Any thinking person can see SHivaay's noose was being pulled tight. Annika saw it, she looked shocked...)
Annika leaves, and he comes after her immediately.

Quietly, he holds her hands, what strength he was giving her, but he had none to give. But he gave whatever he had.
We signed divorce papers?
(But I didn't sign them Annika, I didn't )
Why are we together,Shivaay?
What is this bond that keeps us together?
You divorced me, You don't want to live with me,
and yet you won't let me leave, why?
Why did you remind me of our marriage, when I had forgotten it?
It was broken already, why didn't you just let me forget?
Now, you've reminded me, how will I get over it now?

Why is it so hard, Shivaay? Everybody wants you to leave me, marry Tia, have your child.
Just do it Shivaay, leave me, marry Tia, be the father to your child.
Why do you resist?
Why don't you let me go?

(he swallows his words with great difficulty. Shivaay, don't you realize those words would have sealed her to you forever? She is dying to hear those very words. )
But he gives her vows. You are very important to me. I will always take care of you. I will make sure nothing hurts you, ever. Have trust in me. Do you trust me?
Great Wall of Shivaay just extended to protect her also. He has already accepted his role as her husband, the words are just a formality. Now Annika has the tough job of releasing him from this duty, because she does not believe in forging new relationships by burning old relationships. She does not want to take him from his family.
And since his family cannot accept her, what's there to think about? For her its simple: "I must go. It's bigger than him and me, this is about family. There is no option"
But he packs to LEAVE, with her ! I couldn't believe my eyes. The guy who tossed Om's bag and pulled him back in when he was leaving, made this decision to take her and leave. Of course, Annika won't let it happen.
But here, he made HER his number one priority, and that has huge repercussions.

But raita phailaoed there, as the whole family stops them. Annika presses to leave, making it easy for everyone, but Shivaay is adamant. No way he is letting her leave. Not an option.
Whatever that happens after is like a painful repeat of the moments leading to their marriage.
He is furious that she wants to leave. Another first , is Shivaay is talking about feelings and loyalty, skirting around the words Love and Devotion.
But the situation is so pathetic, Annika had to take a stand for herself. She probably feels the same as the time she was leaving outside the hospital.
Yet, her leaving was NOT an option. This guy will never let her leave. Ever. He will bully her into staying if nothing works. He's off the chart in love, its like he decided his love is enough for the both of them.
*Shivaay rubbing her nose in his proposing and commitment to Tia.
Heck, he never gave her a ring with such pomp and PDA? Why is it he can do all this with Tia, even in pretense? Why can't he even say the words when he can announce and present big diamond rings to Tia in front of everybody? (*I hate you Shivaay*)
Yet, it is a throwback to the time he pushed back his attraction to her and proposed to Tia, landing a great blow of pain to Annika. He saw her through all that torture of preparing for his wedding, the jerk knew all the while that she had feelings for him.
He knew!?
I'm sure its a last ditch effort to jolt her memories back. He did all the nice bits, and now moved on to the ugly ones, the wedding. What I'm excited about is his eyes are following her hungrily, with a desperation I needed to see. It is going to be very difficult for him also.
I wonder if he will put himself in danger, so she will come running to save him, and remember that also?
