JNDSD~My take Wednesday 15th February 2017 ~ flying paper planes!
As a child making paper planes, and flying planes was my fun time learning of aero dynamics, and the laws of gravity. Once made, the paper planes gave me moments of immense joy. The imagination would run wild, desire to be airborne took flight on the wings of the folded piece of paper. Seeing Atharv with paper planes made me realize how much he wishes to be elsewhere. This place the Vashist house and all the current occupants are doing his head in.. its like in the soft in the head state say to Vividha..lets fly away my love to some far distant land ,filled only with love.
Here comes the groom! and certain prepositions come to my mind. Seemingly Atharv tumbles over and falls. The drop equates with his plummeting doubts about how he perceives Vividha's relationship with Ravish. Atharv's sentiments of his love for Vividha further suffer a collapse when he notes Ravish's so to speak pining love for Vividha. Atharv's visual input, thus overrides the calling of his heart, his ears turn deaf to the vows both him and Vividha took...now at the bottom of the stairs faces of people who care, fuss around him. But Atharv knows what he has to do ..and naught can stop him now. There is movement in his room after the doctor checks and sedates him.. he vanishes from the room and finally is discovered hiding behind the bed! All he wants is to do is hide from all that matter to him. For Atharv it's all about concealment of his love for Vividha. When he does reveal himself it's the side Vividha, Sujata never wanted to see! But this is what Atharv wants to be seen, his fall over backwards into his past condition!
The paper plane that he asks for is symbolic of his oblivion. Where his past stood still and he flew and glided about with not a care in the world! His stupor took away the pain of how her hand was forcibly pulled out of his hand.. then his Rudraksh ..broke.. and all was void.. but Atharv came back from the land of nothingness after three months ..what he saw and what he sees now, compels him to seek his paper plane that would enable him to fly away from woes.. his crusade as he perceives of uniting two people who love each other! Atharv literally passes through Ravish and Vividha..makes a dramatic exit from their lives...that is what his fall is about! But we see it's a complete hoax.. the end result of his self perpetuated tumble! It's a trick executed for a finer purpose as he races down the very stairs from whence he fell.
The still in place mandap is for Atharv a bit out of place as there will be no wedding here! not if he has a say in it! For he'd rather that no heart breaks and no family suffers! He puts his act aside for a bit as his heart bleeds for his mother, Vividha, Ravish .. but Atharv got to do what a man has to do! No turning back for Atharv as he, hidden from a vantage point watches a rather disillusioned Vividha stumble! but not fall! As Ravish's strong arms prevent her! like it or not.. but they both through his eyes are seen to be in love! but what of his heart that crashes like the jug to the floor and shatters in a million pieces! Atharv nearly gives his presence away! as they spot him, but no worries, he thinks they both know by now he is soft in the head..again! besides, as of now he'd rather be in the background hidden behind the scenes!
What computability between the two.. Atharv sees a distressed Vividha being consoled by Ravish.. Atharv will recover. They will nurse him together like they did before.. is Atharv going to take longer to recover so that he can a allot more time to these two?? But he'd rather stay in the background.. does he find it hard to give up Vividha up altogether? Fly paper planes! Involve her interaction too in all innocence..old habits die hard? But to reiterate his brought about, yet again madness he would use Adaa's assistance ..she adds substance to his act, for under her child like manner he can manipulate the adult in him into reverting back to his past condition. Although at times Atharv does try to act painstakingly, but still his sorrow shows. His lost toys that he refers to, are to me, symbolic of his desires and dreams he shared with Vividha , what their future held for them ..
He enures that his mannerisms are real enough for all to moot the idea that his madness disqualifies him from being the suitable partner for Vividha. It's all so Suman can once again gain fresh hopes for getting Ravish and vividha married again??? Well more than Suman Atharv wants to end the suffering in both Ravish and Vividha's life.. they have borne enough! they need to leave it to him, he'll make sure it happens! Even so when Vividha's tears of sorrow mirrors exactly how he feels. Athav moulds his heart and mind into believing that.. he is being cruel to be kind to Vividha! As Ravish was the unimaginable man who would love Vividha more than he could!!
If there's any one who can cut through Atharv's translucent glass front! its Vividha with her sharp diamond cut love for him. She spots his tears, and he bluffs her question ,what made him cry? He gets away..but her suspicions are raised. Upon Adaa's revelations complete with recorded proof!
When eyes see the evidence and finds foul-play! Vividha is devastated ,but to me there also lies within her great relief that her love has not really reverted back to his previous condition... she will tackle his purposeful fall when she gets the time. For the way they were, Vividha and Atharv never really held their piece from each other. Pity misconceptions have crept in and and stayed because of lack of communications within them.
Suman had never really accepted the marriage that was about to happen over the dead body of her son's marriage !she wants dcor off and her house back. Besides there shouldn't be a marriage Atharv is no way fit..but Ravish reminds her not now! not the time or place for it. Which means that Ravish is optimistic that things will return to normal.. and he is this way inclined due to his promise to Vividha?
Dinner time ..a time for family to draw and eat together. The soft in the head son arrives and continues with his deceptive act.. this time a firm faced ,not amused looking Vividha is ready in wait for him! She intends to catch him out !expose his con ! Vividha challenges him she knows this act of his,is not for real! but what she knows not, is why and what Atharv is up to? She is irate ,as she possibly knows he is still doubting her!! but then he should know full well if he is fire then she too is fire and when two fires meet a bigger hell! is created.
Passing the plate.. she serves him ,and serves him a reminder too..that when he was ill he always ate in a particular plate that he kept as his. Atharv fails to catch on to the one that belonged to his oblivious condition! Atharv too knows his smart Vividha knows his act is not for real.. but he does show her the act of passing over.. or transferring something over.. so he too is passing his one sided love over to her and Ravish so their love can be taken and accepted!!
Precap: Suman is put in her place by Vividha ,when Vividha clears all the cruel speculations once for all!yes she will marry Atharv in any condition! This is a proposal for Atharv from her yet one more time.
Well it seems Atharv and his life will be the centre of the story. It was quite an experience for me to meet the normal Atharv. Now he seems to be going through a fall only to rise as a star? Hamlet53, 16.2. 17
