I just saw Dear Zindagi...are u kidding me? This is the movie everyone in the forum was going crazy over? I've never seen anything more ridiculous...she was just a whiney bratty little girl who needed to get over her issues 😆 The movie seemed like a Queen-wannabe.
Alia was FAR better in Udta Punjab! And to think shes winning awards in some places for DZ? Doesnt even deserve a nomination IMO! Why does everything she do get so over-hyped? 😕

Idk about the movie because I haven't watched the whole movie, just little portions here and there. But, I think 2016 was pretty empty in terms of big projects for actresses, other that anu and alia that is, and maybe sonam? Let's see what comes out of 2017, what with Kangana, Anushka, Deepika, Alia and various other actresses in the mix.

I liked the movie. Initially I disliked Kaira for her attitude and her arrogance towards her parents but it was kinds justified later. Some parts were slow but overall a good movie.
Alia in UP was beyond amazing.

Maybe because it resonated on a deeper level. As someone who studies psychology, who uses psychology actively in her job, this film was real. And I loved it. And as someone who struggled to make mends with her parents, this film was real. While you may not understand the moral behind the story, I do. While you don't get Alia's acting rationale for this movie, I understand. But again, it all goes down to personal preferences and experiences. My mother cried when she watched this film, and said it was one of the best Bollywood films she has ever seen. And she's a Pakistani-American.

Same here. Kaira's problems were all superficial. Bratty whinny kid. I don't even think her parents were all that at fault. Her Mom was a sweetheart. She was forever making up for those 2 years she left her baby.

The only thing that I liked in movie was -- Jug telling her that.. stop putting your parents on pedestal. They can make mistakes too. They are not perfect. I loved that part.

Otherwise movie was shit. Ameero ke chochle! And moreover, the way she treated her friends. Felt like they were baby sitting her.
