Like someone here said, I also have given them a benefit of doubt for the sake of entertainment purpose.
But that definitely doesn't mean they can get away with anything in the name of 'creative liberty'.
Not only Pakistan but they also presented Army and security agencies in a very immature way. They have a voice, this creative team, a voice that reaches to millions of households through their drama. Had they been a little more considerate and careful about Army and a country, they might have played a part in changing mindsets. Also, they should have realised that their show has a reach in not only India but also outside of India. What a pity!
PS. Your post could have been better if you had avoided dragging Ravish or moochie into this. If you had only criticized CVs for their absurdity!

No, it's true. There is a limit to what they should be able to show. Already they have previously heavily suggested those terrorists were Pakistani & Muslim and now they're openly saying it. What's next?! I have edited the mooch bit out, sorry I was frustrated but this isn't a criticism of Ravish/Shashank. My point about him not doing a lot is more at what they're showing, they're not conveying a realistic army captain here - Ravish has been off duty for months, even with the first terrorist track and stuff they showed him being a more words and less action character. It shows they haven't done their research, and if you are going to portray the army and/or terrorism research is critical. It is an absurd track and I hope they pay heed to the criticism they get and don't show something so unrealistic in future.

I am a British Pakistani, and always struggle to see hindi serials often using Pakistan as their rival country which is always very dissapppointing and off putting. Fiction is a means to spread message, can't something positive be mentioned for once? With all the tensions between both countries why do serials have to add to it?

Yeah, how about ending the track with a message of peace, why can't they just show that both respective armies should work together to combat the threat? An army doesn't work to defend terrorists in their country, the goal of both armies would be the same.

hi. Sia, popped by to tell you ..the post brought tears to my eyes.. Army public school... incident came alive.. thank you echoing my thoughts.. been to Wagh /Atari checkpost many times.. reminds me that many from both landstravel back and forth and mil round.. so where does all the hate mesages come from.? I tend to blame the medias of both sides.. really we could do without it. As for the programme that I chose to watch and write about JNDSD.. yes it did make it dificult for me to write about yesterday.. what I felt about references to Pakistan I have expressed in my Friday take .. called.." the oddness of three and harmony of two"..
thanks once again hammie , British, with Pakistani roots traced back to India.

As an Indian I totally completely wholeheartedly against the current track !! There is enough hatred in the world let's try and bridge those gaps via media and not widen the gap further!!

Also the show has done zero research on Indian army leave alone terrorist terrorism and Pakistan .

I am sure star plus would not show any stupid stuff in the name of entertainment .

I have to admit too, the Pakistani bit was done in poor taste, it actually saddened me. This is further proof of how narrow peoples thinking can be, It would have been better to use a fictional country than this. I hope ppl bear in mind now that the CVS or yeah writers of this show could be anti Pakistani and allowed to write this nonsense, no country is perfect but also responsible and sensible writing is highly recommended

Exactly, why add fuel to the tensions?! What is the necessity? So many are falsely led to believe that this is the case, and not as many then go on to do research and find out they're wrong!

Absolutely agree the degree of hate between two countries when one country portrays the other in a bad light is disgusting and leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Being a Kiwi Indian it's sad when they pinpoint each country against each other. Why can't the two countries find peace in their wars. The platform of television just increases the tensions and people believe whatever the show represents is true and correct. Reason why I hate watching terrorists tracks in any show... knowing many people lost their lives over the years and tension in Syria.
I hope someone complained about this track.

I was going to make a post but you have said exactly everything that I would have! Perfect post.
Thank you for echoing my own sentiments so well!

My history- funnily enough- is very similar to yours apart from it is my Mum who was born here and Dad in Pakistan. My grandparents too were born in India- as it was then. Such a shame that CVs are inciting division at a junction in history when the world is already so polarised. Victimising an entire religion and country is such a bad thing to do and reflects very very poorly on the makers. It made not only Pakistan but also the Indian army look bad today! It really has lowered my respect for the show and made me reconsider my support of it. ViTharv have a revolutionary love story but do I want to endorse a show that exploits the hateful rhetoric of today and the deep political issues that thwart the world? I don't know.

Reinforcing negative views of people from other parts of the world is something that I will never ever support. Kind of killed the whole thing for me. Never knew CVs who could make such a beautiful story in some aspects could be so stupid in others.

This thread in particular has made me happy as everyone from this forum has come together and mutually agreed on something after a very long time. No biases involved, no favourite characters/actors involved, just a community fighting together for a greater good. šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘
