CHAPTER FORTY SIX

In all honesty she had seen him and only she could understand the hell she was going through. She was angry at him for dumping her the way he did notwithstanding the fact that's he felt like she allowed him use her the way he wanted and she was stuck not only branding his business up but also go through the horror of watching him marry another woman who was not her.

He looked really then to be fair and he was not as clean shaven as he usually was. He also looked like he hadn't slept in days. Given everything it still broke her heart seeing him like that which made her feel even more pathetic and that just made her even the angrier with him. She walked sternly completely committed to ensuring that she ignored him and just want about with her life but he wasn't about to let her go that easily without at least explaining himself.

He grabbed her hand something which started her that she ended up stumbling backwards and in a bid to stop her from falling, Raman put his hand on her back just above her Waist and pulled her in causing her to land on his chest. Shagun who had made her way there found them walked in just as Ishita fell in and at first glance one would think Ishita had run into Raman's arms. Shagun being paid to be jealous Shagun wanted to cause trouble and create as much trouble for Raman as she could. So when she saw them, she walked in and before both of them could even compose themselves, Shagun grabbed Ishita's hand and pulled her away from Raman swinging her hand and

'Smack...'' Off the slap went on Ishita's face causing Ishita to stumble back holding her face

'Shagun...'' Yelled Raman pulling Shagun to the side as he turned to Ishita

Varun and Shlok who were complete and utter shock knew there was no way Ishita was taking this lying down and when she got up and charged towards Shagun, Varun held her back while Raman held back a screaming Shagun.

'Ishita come on...'' Mihika pulled her away

'Let go of me and let me teach this hoe a lesson...'' Said Ishita angrily

'Hoe, you are the one trying to seduce my husband what does that make you...'' Said Shagun

'Ishita... This is not the place to do this plus you have a lot more to lose if this comes out...'' Said Mihika as she pulled Ishita away taking her to a different room

'Dude... I think you need to take this crazy and sort her insanity...'' Said Varun to Raman before him and Shlok walked out

Shagun smirked, a bit realizing that the gap between Raman and Ishita had just grown even wider than she ever imagined and this was a very good thing.

'Calm down... Ishita ...'' Said Mihika as he tried to get a hold of Ishita

'She was just trying to get under your skin...'' She added

'She f**kin slapped me... That bitch... Argghhh I am so mad right now...'' Said Ishita angrily sitting down

The events of the whole scene began playing in her mind and all she could remember was Raman grabbing a hold of Shagun and pulling her aside

'Why would he allow her to treat me like that'' She said

'Ishu... You're over thinking this... Shagun is crazy and he was holding her back to avoid the situation getting worse...'' Said Mihika but all this was falling on deaf ears

'Is that why he called me here?'' Said Ishita

'Hey Ishu...'' Said Mihika

'What was my crime? What did I seriously do that was so bad that I deserved this...'' Said Ishita turning to Mihika

'Since when is falling in love with someone such a crime...'' Said a teary Ishita

The kids had sat in Romi's office and were getting bored. They figured they make their way into their father's office and try and wait for him there.

Aditya and Ruhi made their way to their father's office but the room adjacent to his was open and they could hear Mihika talk to someone. Curious, they could see Ishita was seated by one of the computers and it was evident she was upset about something. Mihika put her arms around her and hugged her as Ishita continued to cry without saying anything, a sight that ended up upsetting them more than it should have

'What are you guys doing here'' Romi who was coming from behind them asked

'Nothing...'' Said Aditya running away before a tearful Ruhi followed

Once they got to Raman's office, there was a silence between them as the sight of their former nanny kept on playing in their minds and they began feeling bad.

'Adi...'' Said a very chocked up Ruhi

'Yes...'' Said Aditya softly

'Do you think Nanny is okay...'' Said Ruhi

'I do not know...'' Said Aditya softly

'I do not like to see her sad...'' Said Ruhi as she began to cry and Aditya hugged her tearful as well

'Did you come alone...'' Said Romi who had followed them to Raman's office

'We came with Mom...'' Said teary Ruhi

'What is wrong...'' Said Romi

'Romi uncle...'' Said a teary Ruhi as she fell into her uncle's arms

'Is something wrong with Nanny'' Asked Aditya

'Ishita... No she is absolutely fine. Why'' Said Romi

Romi knew exactly what had happened in that room a few minutes a go and he knew more than anyone that Shagun and trouble were best friends and given how much she liked drama, she was going to screw up. He grabbed the kids and walked them outside leading them to the room where Ishita was.

'Hey Ishu there are...'' Said Romi holding his tongue as he looked at what was happening

'Are you alright...'' He added

'Yeah am alright...'' Said a teary Ishita looking up with the side of her cheek completely bruised

'Nanny...'' Whispered Aditya

'Am sorry I have to go...'' Said Ishita standing up embarrassed as she walked away

'Mihika what happened...'' Romi said and Mihika stood up saying

'What do you think...''She said holding her tongue as she looked at the kids

'Hey guys...'' She added to the kids

'Mimi Auntie what is wrong with Nanny...'' Asked Aditya

'She is fine... Nothing is wrong with her...'' Said Mihika

'You're lying... I know your lying'' Said Aditya taking his sister's hand and off the went back to their father's office

Meanwhile back with Pratik and Priya they got to the parking lot with Priya clearly pissed off at what had happened inside that she just kept on mouthing curses at Simmi. Pratik who knew better than anyone knew that was a sensitive topic that he didn't want to indulge into so he just kept his mouth shut until they got to his car.

''Arrggg that botch gets on my nerves...'' Said Priya

'So what now...'' He said turning to her

'What do you mean'' She asked looking at him

'Well... Are you going to tell me what is going on or am I just going to still be in the dark...'' He said

'Wait what... Hang on a minute...'' Said Priya opening the door and forcing him in before she walked over to the passenger's side and getting in as well. Once she settled in she began

'First of all, am sorry... I tend to get a little crazy when am angry or frustrated because I am not getting what I want. Childish behavior I know, am working on that so be patient with me... Second am sorry for being petty, there is no date. It is a meeting at the alt with the programs director, his name is Raul, very senile over the top kind of guy, totally not my type and three, am sorry that I took this long to tell you, I love you...'' She said a bit teary before she added

'But am not sorry for kissing you, neither am I sorry that she saw me. And I wasn't using you; I kissed you because I wanted to. As for me telling you what is going on, I need you to please trust me when I ask you to give me some time...'' Causing Pratik to scoff as he said

'You realize the little white secrets you have are the reason we are here?''

'Pratik...'' She began

'If you had told me what you had gone to do when you left the country, or told me about your life, or told me it was something for you friend, anything, I would have had something to hold on to. But I was raging with anger and jealousy that I thought I was going crazy and...'' He said holding his tongue

'I do not want to fight. I just ...'' He added but she interrupted

'No... No... We have been putting off this fight long enough, let us have it...'' She said

He looked at her for a minute and as nervous as he was, she was right. So he took a deep breath and began

'I am scared of being mad at you because I feel you will break up with me. I love you more than you like me, in that circumstance that makes me the weaker party, I am the weak partner in this instance and I am okay with being that but...'' He said in one breath as he looked up at her but she just looked back not saying a word

'Do I really deserve the kind of...'' He began again but she interrupted

'Am sorry... I was angry with myself, my ego was bruised, I was terrified that you would go back to her or find your way back to her because you two have a history. I was angry and by the time I realized I was being unreasonable it was too late... I thought it was too late...'' She said

'You realize that doesn't even make sense... I told you repeatedly...'' He began

'I know... I know... I should have listened... I was wrong for being that way I know that but I tend to be betrayed by the men in my life and I have trust issues. It is something your going to learn about me but am working on it. The people have...'' She began tearing up her voice breaking

'The people in men in my life have never been true to me or fair for that matter, my father thinks of me as a horrible mistake of a daughter and has never been there for me so I grew up learning not to depend on him, I have had one boyfriend all my life and he was with me because of drugs and that was that, it almost killed me. Ishita and Mihika are all I have and as embarrassing as it is it became comfortable being their friends not wanting anything else... Then you show up, and show interest I felt like my world was turning upside down because it didn't make sense why a guy like you would want to be with a girl like me...'' she added and he sat down almost in disbelief

She was bold and courageous which was something even he found intimidating sometimes so to see her insecurities like that was something he never expected

'So when you told me you slept with her I just... I ' She couldn't say anymore and she began to cry

'You're an idiot...'' He said tearfully

'I know... I just... you have no idea how much I am in love with you and you have no idea that in am the weaker party in this relationship. Every time we meet I had to try 10 times harder to pretend to be strong so you wouldn't think I was pathetic...'' She cried turning to him as she said

'I love you... Can't you just see that and we move passed it and just start a fresh? I will do better, I promise...''

'Am saying you're an idiot for not reading what was in front of you and realizing you had me all along... Fool...'' He said as he pulled her into him

'I love you, so please stop acting crazy already and just come to me...'' He added and she chuckled as she put her arms around him

CHAPTER FORTY SEVEN

Back with Ishita she was livid given the treatment she had just received and every time she saw Raman with Shagun, her jealousy just increased even more and she became crazier because there was nothing she could do about it.

The truth of the matter was he still considered that crazy woman his wife and for as long as it stayed that way, there was nothing Ishita could do because it was much more than just Raman and her, he was a single father and his kids came before anything else.

She had already sent Mark and they had done an extensive investigation on Shagun, everything she needed to know was piled away on a flash drive in her office. She had had it for a few days but she couldn't quite bring herself to look at it. If she indeed was his Shagun, she had no power or even right to fight for him, it would mean he was taken already and that was a reality she wasn't ready for.

'Ishu... Ishu ...'' Yelled Vidya pulling her from her stance

'The hell... Where have you been'' She added

'Why are you yelling...'' Said Ishita

'You were supposed to go to the hospital, why are you not at the hospital...'' Said Vidya

'Because I do not want to be at the hospital...'' Said Ishita getting up from the pool where she was seated and heading back inside

'Ishu... He is our dad... You can't just ignore that fact, it can't just go away...'' Said Vidya

'Does this conversation have a purpose... 'Said Ishita

'What do you...'' Said Vidya looking at her and realizing she wasn't quite paying attention

'Where are you going'' She added

'To bed... ' Said Ishita carelessly

'Where do you come off talking to me like that'' Said Ishita

'Do you realize how pathetic you look right now? When was the last time you even checked into the Alt, or even did any work in relation to that? When was the last time you attended a company meeting that had nothing to do with RKB Fashions, when was the last time you went to visit your mother...'' Said Vidya and Ishita kept quiet

'The first time we met when you said you would help me, you told me you were taking care of me because I had nothing to do with the people who destroyed your family, you said you would make sure Raina Raghav never destroyed your mother's legacy and that it stayed alive, why is Raina Raghav still in Iyer Techs business? You know this and yet you still doing nothing and just sitting here and pining away. What had Raman Kumar Bhalla done for you thus far...'' Said Vidya angrily

'You know what, screw it... You can go to the hospital to save our father or maybe not that is entirely up to you but I will be dammed if I am going to sit around mopping with you like a delinquent idiot for someone who is not worth my time...'' She added grabbing her bag as she added

'And for the record, I hate Mr. Iyer like the next child but that doesn't take the fact that his is our father away. I would like to believe that Bebe raised a good person who understands that no amount of misunderstanding justifies what you want to do. The truth of the matter was your mother loved him and you can't just let him die. You're refusing to go to the hospital is the same as you leaving him there to die... Are you sure your conscience is okay with that...'' And with that she walked out

Ishita slumped down sitting on the stars as she watched her baby sister leave. She had just been given a dose of reality from a person that was really unexpected. Vidya was right, she had slacked long enough and it was time she stopped. As painful as it was, she needed to get back on her feet and continue the journey she was on, the journey her mother had given up so much for to make sure she attained. It was the least she could do as Anjali Shegrill's daughter.

TWO WEEKS LATER

'I am working on it trust me... If I had any other solution then I would but this is the only way, once she pays me then I will tell them everything...'' Said Shagun

'This isn't right... Those kids ...'' He said

'You think I do not know that...'' Said Shagun

'What about this month's deposit... They are saying if we do not deposit something then everything stops, Amika what do we do...'' He said

'Just take care of Aman and I will handle the rest...'' Said Shagun with desperation in her voice

'Am sorry that...'' He began but Shagun cut him off

'Can I talk to him...'' Said Shagun

'Sure here...'' He said and Shagun anxious got up and began pacing around

'Hey baby... You feeling alright ...'' She said tearfully

'I know my love and I am going to come see you really soon. You are my strong soldier, just hang in there for mom will you...'' Said Shagun putting her hand on her mouth as she held back her tears

'Mama...'' Aditya's voice came from being startling her and causing her to hang up

'What...'' She said flustered

'Are you okay...'' He asked

'Yeah am fine... ' She said

'Dinner is ready...'' Said Aditya as he turned and walked back out

Santosh who had intentionally sent Aditya upstairs hoped something had clicked for that boy and she hoped he had heard something because if Aditya's heart even wavered a bit, so would Ruhi's. It broke her heart that they had to toy around with the poor boy's emotions like that but he needed a few hard truths if they were ever going to rid themselves of the fake Shagun.

The table was set and everyone was ready waiting for Aditya and Shagun. She got down and as always there was an awkward silence at the table with everyone clearly uncomfortable with the situation except the kids who seemed oblivious to the whole thing but were slowly beginning to catch on.

Ruhi is everything ready for your recital...'' Said Raman

'Yes Papa...'' She said quietly

'Alright... Mihir will pick you up and take you to school I will meet you there...'' Said Raman smiling

'Don't be late papa...'' She said

'I won't...'' He said

'Uhh... Papa... Can...'' Said Ruhi looking at her mother before she kept quiet

'Can what...'' Said Raman

'Nothing...'' Said Ruhi

'Come on tell me... Why do you hesitate...'' Said Raman who had an inkling of what Ruhi wanted

'No I just thought that maybe we should... I mean... Do you think nanny will come...'' She said softly

'Who...'' Said Romi

'Nanny... She is the reason I got better with my performance. She stayed with me and taught me when I was doing wrong so I just thought that...'' She said suddenly keeping quite when she saw Shagun's face

'I can you ask her to come, papa...'' Said Aditya something that shocked everyone

'You are asking Ishita to come to the recital... You ...'' Said Romi shocked

'Shut up and roll with it...'' Mouthed Raman turning to his son

'Am not sure about her schedule but I will ask her if she can be there...'' He added

Raman all of a sudden felt like his heart was stuck in his throat as he began looking pale in anticipation of whether or not she was even going to pick and if she did, what was she going to say?

'Hello...'' Said Ishita

'Hey its Romi...'' He said

'Yeah what's up...'' She said

'Someone wanted to say hey...'' Said Romi

'Okay...'' Said Ishita

'Nanny...'' Ruhi's sweet voice came through

'Oh hey sugar... How have you been'' Said Ishita sounding excited

He realized too late that he had actually found a mother to his children, she was right there and she loved them so much and it was evident on how much she cared about them. If only he had not been so selfish and just thought about himself, they wouldn't be here

'Ruhi sweetie, I am not so sure I will be allowed to come to you recital though...'' Said Ishita

'What why not...'' Said Ruhi innocently

'I do not think your father and mother would want me there not to mention your brother...'' Said Ishita
