Indeed, she's a beauty and quite popular. Also, Neerja isn't the first movie in which she showcased her acting skills. There are some of them (Saawarya, Aisha, Delhi 6, Raanjhanaa, Khoobsurat, Dolly Ki Doli) and irrespective of their box-office result, Sonam acted quite well in them.

I think that for an actress who had to wait 9 years to do a movie with a Khan, Sonam managed quite well and managed to grow by herself.

I think ir's quite disrespectful to call Neerja a fluke when she put her faith and hardwork in this movie. How many A-list actresses would have agreed to star in a 21cr movie?

A tragic movie without a male lead managed to do 75cr business, moreover, people connected with Neerja and were truly curious about her story afterwards... so it does mean that the team -including Sonam-did something right.

Let's not forget that the tragic Sarabjit was released the same year and was a flop because the leading actress failed to deliver. And there was strong and appreciated second lead actors in the film (Randeep and Richa).

If an actress were to be written off because her performances ces sometimes falter (BKB or LP) or because her movies flop (DB, KCK...), a Deepika wouldn't be able to boast about a Piku.

So Sonam does deserve to be were she is as she works for it. Let's spare ourselves talks about nepotism when people like Soha, Bobby or Esha exist.
