So funny. In west 80 percent big boss have one or another mental dissorder.HSP, Bi-polar,
etc. Many big boss having very succesful life with very good married life , being clinically depressed.
Life is complecated. At some point of life most of us suffer from depression of different form.
Why depression is shown in negative light in this show?

Directors do not call depression dark or negative. It is just a mental state can be cured only by changing environment and by a supportive loved once. Depression can be cured easily in short period of time 1 or two years..

Even low dose relaxation pills are also called anti- depresent... So why you are using word depression?
You should say schizophrenia, not depression. Schizoprenia can be called dark but again not the person.

Learn little more about mental illness before using the word.

Post traumatic dissorder is also considered as depression by some people. But post traumatic
dissorder heal as quickly as the person get the right environment.

Anti-depresent is much less serious medicine for self harming..
self harming is schizophrenia.

The entire industry needs to wake up and be more aware and be held responsible for their portrayal of mental illness. Can we start a hashtag so the people of Beyhad notice that we are not happy with how they are depicting mental illness. For a show that is popular among the youth, and that too with a popular lead cast we can really make a difference.

The cast too, whenever they promote the show it is always about the suspense, twists and turns. I wish they would mention something positive about mental illness or mental health.

We are living in a time when one of Bollywood's popular actor's, Deepika P has spoken up about her experience with depression. Why can't the TV industry catch up?

Yes, this is what I felt so. Had seen one of my loved ones in depression and I know how depressed people reacts, actually depressed people don't react, they stay in their own world. It is so difficult for them to come out of their house and meet others. They don't think about themselves and scheming on others is way too impossible for them. They are helpless and innocent.

yes, I was thinking about the same today. They are even portraying a character as 'depressed' which is irrelevant to depressed character in real life and making everyone scared of depression. As I said in my previous post I had seen a depressed person closely and I know how helpless they feel, they are so innocent, we feel like crying looking at them.

I don't use social media, but will appreciate it if someone can start a hashtag and get the attention of Beyhadh and its entire team. India-forums and other gossip websites look towards covering Beyhadh for some of the smallest and weirdest developments, why not take a moment to cover this? Please start a hashtag and call them all out for the negative impact they are causing.

Well said. I really wish they read this post. Mental illness should not be shown in negative light. The person who is going through depression , will feel demoralized watching the show. They will feel guilty and depressed people rarely comit crime. They can suicide. But self harming should be defined as schizophrenia.

That's not the case here. The problem I felt Saanjh had was the fact that Maya was hiding all this from Arjun. Her hideous nature was what made Saanjh feel there is something more to it.
I agree that mental illnesses need to be shown in a healthier way. Trust me when I say this because I myself have suffered from depression in the past and am still struggling with PTSD amd Anxiety.

Another problem is that many of us too make assumptions about depression. Depression is of many types and intensity. People do self harm in depression - I did and well, it becomes hard living with scars because of all the prejudice against people with mental illnesses.

Selfharming is a serious state and at that level it should not be addresses just as depression. And it is not negative at all. People should treat a depressed person with the best care. This drama is showing Maya gray, but that should not be the case. She should be shown with sympethy and also her best side of character need to be in focus
