Mahira did not suit as SRK's heroine in Raees. Nothing can be done now I know 😆 but who do you think would be the best Bollywood actress who could play Asiya? Fresh pairing for SRK.

Pari would be a good choice probably.

Isn't it a flowerpot role? Don't know if I want any actresses I like still doing those types of roles especially when the landscape of BW is changing and actresses are getting better work now..

Though I'm curious if other actresses rejected the role or was Mahira always the first choice?

I don't think she was. Another pakistani actress was to do the screen test but couldn't make it in india.

Also the names of Huma Q. and Sonam K. flotted around a lot regarding this movie.

From the songs, they looked okay. Not sizzling nor bland.

I think it is wrong to say Mahira did not suit with SRK, issue was she had a limited role, she did a okayish job, but anybody could have done that job. It was the role which was similar to most of the heroines in male dominant movies ala flower pot or lady love for romancing , although a better actress could have left a mark. Or one two dhashu dailouges ala "thappad se daar lagta" would have done the job. Someone who would not look out of place(Buddha-jawan) yet fiery like PC, or the ever green flowerpot Kareena😆
