This competition is of HIGH STANDARD. I wonder why a choreographer is selected as a judge, a person who doesn't know much about nuances of different genre of songs.

I wouldn't mind if she is a judge in the very initial phase of the competition like in the audition. But not when the show is at its peak with serious decisions n eliminations going on.

Farah is the Paula Abdul of this show. She is there to look for the "X factor" in the contestants and its part of that Awaaz, Riyaaz and Andaaz part.
I think she's ok as a judge, during the auditions she felt very rude to some contestants and all but she's meh. Sonu is my fave judge, he gives constructive criticism and is fair.

She's there to find and hone the star/rockstar quality in the contestant and make them concert ready. I think she's an OK judge and has been fair so far.

As a producer of movies should atleast have a fair knowledge about music. Anyways, she is better than the last time's Sonakshi!!

I too don't understand why is she here. I mean she should be judging a dance reality show. I was expecting another singer in farah's place. dekha jaay toh sonu alone is capable of judging. The way he gives his comments and suggestions its amazing. He gives his criticism so positively and without being rude or arrogant like Farah.

Fair question; but the concept of "taal", khaali and all which Sonu was referring to, is not unknown to choreographers. I am not sure how much on "sur" front Farah is knowledgeable; but I am sure, she has know-how of taal and all. Besides, without naming any judge from some of past seasons of Indian Idol only; who had nothing at all to do with any kind of music and all Farah is better I think. Ironically if you look closely, most music shows take one director as judge. I think background of it is; that directors generally do have a pretty good sense of music and all. Reason being when they make films, they have to know which kind of music they want, if music and singing is good; if from a film- producer/director;s point of view a singer's voice/talent fits into a particular genre or song, situation and all. Don't know of present directors have that much knowledge or use it ; but god directors like Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra were pretty involved in song making, singers, music making and all. maybe thats why they need a director's POV as well.

I had the same opinion until i watched the previous episodes -why choreographer in singing show-but here the knowledgeable music director anu is the one doing crazy dancing on stage🤪 ...
Atleast her comments have been sensible so far and sometimes she manages to shut up blabbermouth anu- thats a bonus😆

My favourite is Sonu but I think Farah too has certain knowledge about music, so I think she's o.k. And, I agree with AV25, Sonu alone is capable of judging Indian Idol. The way he gives his suggestion and comments are so amazing that the contestants don't feel bad and would want to follow them sincerely.
