Karuna was really worried for Shaurya for the last few days. She knew something was bothering him but she couldn't pinpoint to what it was. The Khanna house help, Awaara, had informed her that Shaurya had come home very angry and refused to have dinner.

Karuna: Why didn't you have dinner? Bahar khaakar aaya hai?

Shaurya: Hmm nahi...not in the mood to eat Maa...

Karuna: Wht is with the workout today? Its been 2 hours since u r back home and you are still continuing with it. I guess you should stop now. You will injure yourself.

Shaurya couldn't say no to his mother. He stopped it immediately but if he wanted, he wouldn't mind doing it for the rest of the night. There was lot of frustration that he had to vent.

Karuna: Shaurie sit with me for sometime. Its been a long time that you had a chat with your mother. Aaj kal toh tu kuch jyaada hi busy rehne laga hai.

For Shaurya, his mother meant the world to him. Everyone knew how much he adored this lady who loved him like his own son. To be honest, he didn't respect her; he worshipped her.

Shaurya smiled: Yes Maa, sorry I couldn't give you much time. Really sorry for that.

Seeing her son smile, Karuna was assured that everything is fine and that she need not worry.

Karuna: So how was your day? Your hotel had an event today...engagement ceremony right? How was it?

Shaurya: It was good...very tiring. Mr. Malhotra wouldn't let me breathe even for a second...It was really tough to handle him.

Karuna smiled: Ha toh thik hi hai na...of course he will be worried. Its his son's engagement..any parent would be..I too wish to take that stress only if my son, The great Shaurya Khanna, agrees to get married. By the way, how is Mehak?

Shaurya was caught off-guard with that question. He got up from his chair and walked towards the balcony.

Shaurya angrily: What has she got to do with my marriage?

Karuna: Aree...I was just asking. I haven't met her since a long time. If I am not wrong, the last time I met her was in your hotel when my friend Savita had come for lunch. So bas yaad aa gayi.

Shaurya: How would I know how she is doing? She is my employee...I don't talk to her much...

He didn't like the concern his mother was showing for Mehak. He hated it. It really bothered when he would hear people talking good things about her. At the hotel, it was only Mehak, her dish, her simplicity and what not...He never understood what everyone saw in her. She was just a middle class behenji. There was nothing special about her nor was she good looking. Moreover, she was fat and not like those skinny hotel staff that he had working for him.

He was still lost in his thoughts when he heard his mother calling out his name.

Karuna: Shaurie are you listening? Kahan khoye ho?

Shaurya: Ha...yes yes I am..So what were you saying?

Karuna: I know beta that Mehak is your employee but I thought that you two had become friends..

Shaurya didn't let his mother complete her sentence: Mom please she is not my friend and you know well that I don't have any friends..yeh sab bekaar ke rishte main nahi manta...They are useless...

Karuna: Fine Shaurie, why are you reacting so much? Anyways, I was just saying that Mehak's husband would be really very lucky to have her...She is such a sweet girl...Hamesha doosro ke bare mein sochti hai...Every time I think about her, a smile comes on my lips..I wish she gets all the happiness in her life.

Shaurya: Why do you think about her so much? There is nothing special about her Maa...please...
