"Badi hi kutti jagah hain yeh Berahampur..."
More like, "Badi hi Filmy jagah hain yeh Berahampur..." 😆
A "Sultan" scene rip off
A fetishized Bengali Bahu.
A "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" scene/song rip off (just replace Lord Hanuman with Lord Shiva in "Selfie Le le" and voila...you have Rangeela's entry!).
And last but definitely not the least- the flying Rangeela! 🤣
Just...WHAT WAS THAT??
First things first, WHEN will Bollywood and Tellywood producers STOP generalizing men and women from certain races? What was with that Bengali tinted Hindi the Badi Bahu of Chaudhary Khaandan was mouthing? 🤢
It was ridiculous, definitely unnecessary.
Also, why just WHY did they have to rip off "Sultan's" wrestling scene frame to frame?
Ok, Vikas has a great body to show off. We get it. Now can we move on?
Moving over to the good points, can I say I'd give a 9 out of 10 to the choice of cast and their acting? There were hardly any OTT lines or expressions.
Right from Indraneil to Vikas to Zahida Parveen...they all were too good!
Vikas's dialogue delivery is on point. His deep, rich voice, coupled with the Haryanvi accent adds just the right amount of ruthlessness that is a signature of the No Mercy land.
Param didn't have much to do in this episode, apart from his entry scene where he acts the part of a Junkie. Let's see what we get to see of him.
Zahida was a show-stealer! What I'm curious about is why the women of the family aren't willing to support another woman? Is it because of fear? Seems unlikely when you see the Badi Bahu throwing the piece of paper Rashmi gave her to call Raghav. She didn't seem scared at all.
Could it be a deeper psychology at work? Channeling abuse after being abused? Some sadistic pleasure they gain by seeing another helpless girl being thrown into this hell because they went through the same once upon a time?
All said and done, the acting saved an otherwise 1st episode. I sincerely hope this wasn't the trailer of the movie we're about to see. 🤓
