Why Doesn't Shahid ever get enough credit for Jab We Met

I have noticed that Shahid Kapoor never really gets his due for Jab We Met. Majority of people usually praise Kareena's performance and underrate Shahid in that film hugely saying how his acting was decent or not really that special I am not denying that Kareena gave a hell of a performance but so did Shahid. Shahid played his role perfectly as the opposite of Geet and his mental transformation was phenomenal in that film and was shown beautifully through some wonderful acting by Shahid. Why is it not many people give him credit for the performance??

I don't think anybody underrates him, every one appreciates him for his stuble role in JWM. Just that Kareena's Geet is so much attention snatchingly good that he got overshadowed.

One and only role where I found him legit attractive!!
JWM would not have been as successful without him.

Yep, I've noticed this too.

I think it's probably cuz the film is more Geet centric...but no one can take away Shahid's subtle performance cuz I can't see anyone else enacting that role with such ease & gravitas. JWM would not be JWM without Shahid just like it wouldn't be JWM without Kareena.

Kareena had the more iconic character.

No I think he gets almost equal credit for the film

He got nominated for Best Actor, which is more than enough.

Geet went on to become an iconic character for Indian Cinema..Obviously Shahid got overshadowed

He was sweet in the film, but wasn't required to do much at all, apart from the "kutte ullu ke patthe" scene.
