General comment on relationships- It's amazing how someone who meant the world to you can be the reason your world comes crashing down. It honestly makes me cynical and makes me feel like there is no one you can actually depend on. Everybody disappoints.

Also, I know society mandates that one put their husband/wife over friends, but I don't think only a difference in title means you are obligated to stand by one of the two no matter what. I used to believe that soulmates don't necessarily have to be your romantic partners. Of course, now I don't believe in soulmates at all.

I feel society puts an undue importance on romantic relationships. Why can't other relationships be equally important?

I think people don't understand that one can support their husband without humiliating your old friend, she could have been more neutral about stuff!

Word. You have echoed my thoughts so well. Personally, I can't see myself giving precedence to a romantic relationship over other relationships. Especially relationships that I have maintained for decades, it just doesn't make any sense to me...

Completely agree with this . Husband and old friends are 2 seperate important part of life and one can easily have good relations with both even if they both don't go well together. So i don't understand this notion of choosing husband over friend unless ajay forced her to openly choose 😕

YES! But then given a second chance, they always want to make it up to you...Personal experience! 😊

No matter what kind of relationship, if they ever loved them at some point, one should try to give another chance...Just breaking a relationship of 25 years is showing how much both of them are hurting...

I absolutely love his candor here and not just here but in general as well. It's interesting for a lack of a better term to come across views which are on the lines of how Karan ain't a good friend etc. etc. Maybe it's me but he comes across as someone who is a damn good friend. He has maintained his equations with people he started his career with. Be it Shahrukh , Aditya , Rani , Manish , Farah. This notion that he ain't friends with someone because they are not the leads of his movie anymore is kind of ludicrous. Kajol made a special appearance in KHNH, SOTY and that obviously was because Karan is darn close to her and wanted her to be a part of those movies in some form or the other. It doesn't surprise me one bit that that tweet of hers affected him. I think even normal folks reacted to that petty tweet of hers! It was ridiculous to put it mildly. He didn't say anything at the time but I'm glad he has spoken his mind on it through his book.
