I was not going to write any more deep analyses on Dev and Sona because I don't connect with the characters anymore.
However, I believe in Love and Love certainly needs Courage and in my opinion Both Sona and Dev lacked COURAGE IN THEIR LOVE

Dev: Loved Sona deeply , she was his lifeline , he needed her like he needed breathe but he did not have courage to stand up to his mother for his Love

Sona: Loved Dev deeply, He was her prince charming, the person who gave her the most happiness but she lacked the courage to stand up for herself and her Love against his mother

Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently."
Maya Angelou

Both Sona and Dev lacked courage and without that they certainly couldn't practice their love and thereby could not sustain it. Maybe in their new phase of life they can muster the courage to Love and have conviction in their Love

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage."
Lao Tzu

Hope Sona gets her strength and Dev the courage and thereby both get their Love..whether apart or together

***Disclaimer*** I do not know what the new phase of this show will be maybe cinematic, maybe dramatic, maybe romantic but just thought I will give my thoughts on love using these characters as examples

PEACE OUT

Well said, Sabita. Love without courage is like life without oxygen, intention without dedication, goal without hard work. It's meant to die a painful death...

Dev didn't have courage to stand up for and by his love.

And because Dev made his mother into a Goddess, Sonakshi didn't have the courage to go against his God.

Human beings can fight other humans. No one can fight against God.

I said before, if Dev had learned to treat his mother like a human being with mistakes and flaws, his married life would have had a different outcome.

Well said.. Love definitely needs courage..

Tbh, I never had any expectations from Dev.. He always remained the same and never stood up for Sona when it mattered the most...

As for Sonakshi, I had high hopes for her... Specially, after their marriage, Ishwari faints and spoils their night and Sonakshi has a quick stare down with her. That was the moment I strongly felt that Sona will be the one to notice Ishwari's insecurities and confront the same with Dev and Ishwari... Unfortunately, we never witnessed that.. Instead, Sona turned completely opposite and hardly defended whenever her relationship with Dev was questioned...

P.S- She did confront Ishwari in the last episode... But the damage was already done..

Rightly said, Sabita. Love is not for the faint hearted. There is always a price to pay for it. Love has never come cheap and if it ever has, I would be surprised.

Dev was always shown to be the weaker and his weakness caught on to Sona too, towards the end. He literally broke her will to fight. He broke and she broke. Or at least this is what the makers want us to believe!

I think they will show a repeat of the old scenes in new settings. It started with the ice -cream promo. We just need to sit back and watch the fun, if any.

You are one hell of an analyst. You hit the nail bang on the head. Humans can fight against humans but not against GOD. This was the starting point of the breakup... not Sona. The buck stopped at Dev, squarely at his doorstep. They better show some remorse in him now!

Very true! Love is not enough!

When we fall in love with someone its all about u n me. We think v can do nething for our love. We forget onething that we don't live in isolation and real test of love is when hits the reality of life.

Both Sona and Dev had intent to love and somewhere to stand for it also but they din have the courage to make it happen.

Yes I'm completely with you that love needs courage.
But my Pov Sona failed to save her marriage alots of mistakens were done
She knows that Vicky is villian ..how she believed him??
She saw her husband who destroyed completely, she didn't try to give him any chance to speak..
Love needs not only courage..needs respect , sacrifice, hard ability to bear hurdles. In just one moment
Sona misses her power..that not means that I don't blame Dev.
But Sona were grown up in healthy atmosphere full of love and respect with her family. Her success personality was the result for this circumstances. All these things failed in that appropriate critical situation .

Well dev couldn't stand up for sona because he could.never stand up for himself. Sona was import for his own self but he failed to convey that to ishu and his family that how important sona is to him. I have seen this in real life too where the child cannot speak up in front of his mother even when they are adults when his mother is a dominating lady and dev keeping ishu at a pedestal made matters more worse.
As for sona, a single person cannot win a battle. She needed dev with her but that was not possible hence she also had to become oppressed
