How come 'Lugaai Peeta' is funny?

How come? If we reverse the gender will it be still as much funny? So if a husband tortures a wife it's domestic violence but if a wife tortures her husband it's oh so funny. Because of course "mard ko dard nahi hota" and those husbands who are victim of domestic violence are "not so manly".

Because of this mentality only women are being tortured, molested, raped because unless you show your manliness in form of torture you are not man enough for some.

It's 2017 and we still can't view a person (male or female) as a human being.

In the other article Asif Sheikh was complaining that there are not enough good serials with good contents in Indian TV right now. So this is very good content according to Asif Sheikh I guess.

I am feeling disgusted watching the episode.

I was about to make the same post but you made it. I want someone to write a complaint to BCCC regarding that episode. I hate the shows where hero tortures, insults and manhandles the heroines. But that does means I can be cool with reverse domestic violence of wife bearing husband and it's being made a joke. It was just a 1 day story. Glad that it was not a 4-5 dat story. Men too are victims of domestic violence though it's very less compared to women. Men too gets raped.

I am also thinking of lodging complaint. Perhaps we both should do.

The basic of comedy is when something unusual, unexpected happens. It is not women, but the whole society accepts that men are supposed and expected to be the stronger one in the relationship, so when they are thrashed it causes humour, very primitive kind, but real. The classic CARTOON TOM AND JERRY wholly works on those principles. Had Tom grabbed and killed Jerry that would have been reality but Big Tom Cat is outwitted and beaten by Small Jerry Mouse is what causes the basic humour, (not to mention about its other high artistic values). So we should not judge the show this way, but yes, any kind of unnecessary violence definitely does not cause humour. The show should use that golden line of control.

Domestic violence is a strong and a complicated subject.

Here, it was for fun and these men aren't innocent souls anyways. All the married men here never miss a chance to hit Tika, Malkhan or Saxena themselves. Also, they aren't someone who cannot save themselves from their own wives, the same women whom they trick every now and then. In case of domestic violence, the victim is physically, mentally and emotionally tortured to a point that they lose their confidence to help themselves. It didn't happen to these men or will ever happen.

Talking about hitting someone, how is Mastarji hitting eveyrone in the name of sanskar ? Or how is Ramkali hitting her son every now and then ?

I agree Indian movies or serials have little knowledge about domestic violence. Some shows do not bother to show that a Saas taunting her Bahu over her looks or over her dowry size is also accountable for a case of domestic violence. Lugai peeta isn't funny but Tiwari, Vibhu and Happu deserve it once in a blue moon, wouldn't you say ?

My favourite show also showed the same thing. It's like males in tv shows don't even matter. Their sentiments are disregarded big time :(
