Would Aamir Khan's movies make same money if released on diff dates?

P.K., 3 idiots, and now Dangal etc.👏I know Aamir khan creates records and breaks his own. His choice in scripts have certain aptitude ,and his movies create wonder on the box office. I think if they released on a different, they would still be hits. It just that am curious Christmas leave a huge gap of free weekend,major holiday, and has no major release, would still movie make the same amount of money if released on a diff date? Meaning breaking records after records.What do you think?

P.S. Something to discuss after a long hectic day.😃

If it was Eid, it would still break records. Diwali? I'm not so sure, I believe that's the weakest of the three big holidays.

On any other day? No chance.

Exactly what ive been saying,, he always releases his movie during holiday season that too WORLDWIDE holidays. He should release movies during Eid and Diwali that will be his real test.

This year Christmas and new yr day were on weekends..so no bank holidays, no office holidays..no long weekends. Not all schools give Christmas break..

Dangal made good money even on working days..people actually took a day off to watch it since weekend tickets were not available..

A good film will work whenever it's released..and Aamir makes good films

I can't say about PK and Dhoom 3 but I feel 3 Idiots and Dangal would have made almost the same money if they were released in non holiday weekend because both were good movies.

Nowadays, the success ratio of movies is going down and the film makers are scared of losses.Lot of them don't want to compromise with budget but at the same time, worry about losses that's why they prefer to release their movies during holiday weekends to earn more profits.

This is the case with not just Aamir but with most of the actors and producers.

It depends but Eid is usually the best period historically. Summer Holidays + Usually at least 3 national holidays in a span of a month(Eid, Raksha Bandhan, Independence Day) + at least 3 other regional holidays + Post IPL draught when Bollywood doesn't release many films has people running to the theatre.
Christmas is a close second but there are years is been the best period.Diwali is clearly the worst.

So if Aamir came on Eid, it would add at least 30 crs, 8; he came on Diwali it would lose 30 cr.

Movies like Dangal & 3Idiots will do well irrespective of what date you release them on. WOM is so amazing for these movies that people who usually avoid BW movies are also praising it.

Ghajni ki release tak to Christmas week acche holidays me count bhi nahi hota tha aur tabtak films us week me kuch khaas kar bhi nahi rahi thi per ab biggest holiday period ban gaya hai.

other dates me bhi Aamir ki films acchi hi karti.

actually kuch years pahle tak to Diwali biggest holiday maana jata tha per ab Eid aur Christmas. per teeno bhi equally bade holiday periods hai aur acchi films un me accha hi karegi.

Add PK , TZP and Lagaan as well to the list. They would have made similar money with or without holidays.

ONLY AK movie that benefited due to the holiday period was Dhoom 3. Apart from AK, it had solid franchise advantage as well. That was only weak AK movie that got undue advantage.
