Confirmed! Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte to be Akshay's leading ladies in Padman

The film will be directed by R. Balki and is produced by Twinkle Khanna.

While Sonam and Akki have earlier collaborated in 'Thank You,' this will be the first time Akshay and Radhika will be seen together on the big-screen.

Mumbai: After much speculation, Akshay Kumar's leading ladies in 'Padman' have finally been confirmed!

The film will be headlined by Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. While Sonam and Akki have earlier collaborated in 'Thank You,' this will be the first time Akshay and Radhika will be seen together on the big-screen.

Sonam herself took to her Instagram feed to announce their involvement in the esteemed project.

We had earlier reported that Twinkle was set to turn producer with the film.

It is based on one of the stories from her recently released book, The Legend of Laxmi Prasad'. The story in question is about Arunachalam Muruganantha, who campaigned extensively for menstrual hygiene in rural India and was known as Sanitary Man'.

To be helmed by none other than R. Balki, this makes it one of the most exciting films to look forward to.

W*F are they taking Sonam??? Ugg. Otherwise my Apte is there & Akki who is really good so should be a good film. Balki always makes hatke movies.

Can't wait to see this movie. The theme is interesting and if R. Balki does something along the lines of Cheeni Kum then I'M sure I'll like it.

Akshay gets to star alongside two gorgeous ladies.

What's wrong with Sonam being in the movie ? She is talented which she proved time and again and gets along well with her co-stars.

Even Balki can do wrong, his Ki & Ka is nothing to boast about imo
