Hey, guys! Finally returning with the next chapter. :) Apologies for the delay. :(

Chapter 11: And Thus the Journey Began

The rain fell harder and harder, much to Ranveer's dismay as he eyed Ishani, worried about her now while Ishani remained lost in the tantalizing beauty of the silvery drops entangling them. It was as if she had set free all of her pain and the bondages holding her back, and lived only with the innocence that surrounded her like thin mist encircling a tree before sunrise.

"Ishani, we need to get going. It's getting late," Ranveer shouted, advancing towards her. It was going to take a long time to convince her.

"I want to stay here for a more while, Ranveer!" Ishani said but Ranveer shook his head.

"And fall ill once again, right?" he taunted while Ishani made a face, trying to persuade him with the most innocent look she could muster.

"No means no. No more arguments!"

Ishani opened her mouth but fell silent and turned her face sideways, murmuring something to herself, her voice reaching him in a few moments. "You're scared!" she said at last as if wanting to make Ranveer listen to the taunt.

"Of what?" Ranveer spoke calmly.

"You have this hydrophobia, don't you? You're always afraid of water... You won't enjoy it on your own and won't let me either."

"So? Don't you fall ill as well in rains? You catch cold as well."

"But I'm not afraid like you are! Always spoiling my mood when I'm so happy. It doesn't rain like this everyday!" Her words came unexpectedly harsh as she stared at him, unblinking. The rain whipped down like a restless flood on a mission to destroy everything.

"Ah, fine. Spoiling your mood all the time when you're happy, eh?" His voice carried a slight edge of hurt and his eyes fiercely bore into hers but he said nothing more. She had told him various times how afraid she was when he looked at her like this. After contemplating on her words for 5 seconds Ranveer turned back to leave.

Something flicked in Ishani and she realized the gravity of her words, immediately regretting. "I didn't mean that, no!" she said but too late. Ranveer walked ahead and down towards the servants' quarters without heeding her words. "Ranveer, listen to me please!"

He turned around. "Yes?" They stood in alley leading to his room, providing them shelter from the whiplash of the rains.

"I'm sorry!" Ishani said with a desperation in her voice that made the corner of mouth twitch a little in smile.

"It's alright. Go back to your room and change in dry clothes." He smiled fully now.

The casualty in his voice startled her and she glared at him, hard. "You tricked me in coming down with you!"

"Had no other choice, did we?" Ranveer chuckled.

"You are irritating!"

"I know." Ranveer snorted and Ishani dabbed her hand on his shoulder, glaring at him. "And anyway, before you do catch cold and Mota Babuji finds out about your fond adventures, change your clothes!"

Without another word, Ishani turned to leave but stopped at the sound of sneezing from behind.

"Ranveer!" She rushed to Ranveer who just composed himself from the sudden assault of the cold, sniffing heavily. "Now, you come and change first." She dragged him to his room, Ranveer protesting vehemently but failing.

"I can take care of myself!" he said and Ishani shook her head, mimicking his actions from a while ago.

"Just like last time when you'd fallen ill and nobody even knew for three days until I'd returned from the trip?"

"That was last year and I'm not that bad either. I'm fine."

"You will be. First come on!"

Ishani dragged him further and into the room.

"I can't change when you're here, remember?" Ranveer said, stifling another sneeze which nearly escaped as soon as they entered they the room.

"As far as I know, this place has a bathroom too."

"Ishani!"

"Ranveer!"

Knowing she wasn't going to listen, Ranveer removed the cloths from the cupboard and hurried towards the bathroom, returning in the ten minutes, now sneezing heavily and rubbing his nose. "Argh! This cold! I hate it! I hate it!"

"This is why I didn't want you to be there," Ishani said, trying to sound wise but cowered at realizing she was the one that didn't want to leave.

"No. This is why I didn't want you to be there," he said, emphasizing.

"But I'm not the one who's sneezing so bad."

"Ha ha ha." Ranveer chided. "Your luck. What else do you call it?"

The arguments wouldn't end like this, so Ishani stood up and ambled towards the kitchen.

"Wait, where're you going?" Ranveer asked, suddenly alarmed. Ishani and kitchen were a bad combination!

"To make some tea for you," Ishani answered proudly.

"But you don't know how to!" Ranveer said, his expressions anything but calm.

"Don't worry, Ranveer. I'll manage," Ishani said with a smile. "I learned something about making tea last week. I think I will do it." She sounded dubious but confirmed her confidence with a smile.

"You do know what this means, right?" Disaster, he didn't dare utter the word.

"Ranveer, I can do this much for you," she said.

"For me?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Of course. You're my best friend. Bestest friend." Ishani prepared to make the tea but Ranveer leaped further and caught her by wrist. Ishani Parekh had never cooked anything before. Not even tea, yes.

"Don't worry, I'll make for us," Ranveer said, pushing Ishani aside, not giving her time to even argue.

"But--"

"Don't worry, I said." Ranveer smiled.

Disappointed, Ishani retreated back and stood by his side, letting Ranveer prepare the tea for them while the rain outside now subsided, slowly settling on the gentle downpour.

"You scare the hell out of me, Ranveer!" Ishani said, still bitter with his prank of a while ago, while Ranveer returned towards her with two mugs of tea, both of them walking towards the room.

"You never agree with me otherwise," he answered with a shrug. They both fell silent.

"Do you know why I love the rains so much, Ranveer?"

The night was silent and the moment one of those where they couldn't even play pranks with each other anymore, so he shook his head, just so that the silence wouldn't appear tormenting or awkward. A lie. He knew why Ishani loved the rain. It, to her, symbolized the eternal beauty of the world, unimpeded from the lies that enveloped the world around them. The land rinsing itself from the overlying dust that covered the planes, stripping itself from its real beauty. The rain would wash away the dirt and earth would shine again under the yellow sun. The smell of earth after the rain won her heart ever since she was a little child and she would remain the happiest when the silvery drops from heaven descended gradually. And yet, there was something more to it than he realized. It was as if she yearned for the freedom the droplets presented when they fell apart from the source that held them together. So she would revel in their presence, living through the freedom, imagining herself as lively as them while her being kept her glued to this world. That was why she forgot the whole world around her when she danced in the rains.

To him, they were tears.

And as Ishani spoke to express her views, she rarely strayed from his determined opinions and Ranveer smiled, watching her talk carelessly, her cheeks red. Her eyes gleamed and Ranveer couldn't help but feel proud of himself for being the reason of her smile and happiness. Countless times she told him he was the reason she decided to go on in this family when things appeared far too hopeless for her broken self. Though, of course, she loved to talk in riddles, always making her best attempts to not give away too much otherwise who would save her from his taunts and gratuitous comments hurled at her?

Ranveer understood Ishani too well not to know her well kept secrets from him.

"But," she asked at last, "why do you not like them?"

"I told you that already."

"Not sufficient."

Ranveer sighed. "Why don't you find this out?"

"You're too good at hiding things," Ishani said.

"That's not my problem," Ranveer answered. "And anyway, I doubt anyone knows me here better than you do."

"But--"

"Ishani, I can assure you the day you do find out why I don't like the rain, you will also know one of my dearest secrets." There was a note of seriousness in his tone which put Ishani into unease as she looked at him, unblinking. Noticing her confusion and realizing his own mistake, Ranveer roared in the fits of laughter, making his best efforts to clear away the mess this slip of tongue had almost caused. "Isn't it how those people talk in the mystery movies, too?" Ranveer's voice sounded low and his eyes looked at her with a glint of mischief.

"Stop it, Ranveer! What secret are you talking about?" Ishani shrieked, fuming. "I thought we were best friends who knew everything about each other... what is the secret you are talking about?"Ishani almost shouted by her last sentence and Ranveer shook his head, amused.

"There's none. Really nothing. It's just... the same one I told you about. To me, the rain always symbolizes a broken heart. As if the sky weeps the tears a heart cannot anymore shed. Like that unfathomable agony that burns a soul which will only subside at the heavy shower from the heaven. And there's no other way." Ranveer looked at her expectantly as if in hope to hear something from her, but she remained quiet, staring in the dark, away from his face.

"How do you think all this?" Ishani said at length and sighed, impressed. "I didn't think you read poetries."

Ranveer shrugged his shoulders and smiled. "An artist never lets his secrets out."He grinned and made a face. And one of the disheveled kept pillows from afternoon found their way to him.

"You're awful, Ranveer!"

"Hawww!" Ranveer mock-scowled at her. "I know." He made an evil face and Ishani stood up, but stopped right away as he eyes fell on an abandoned piano. "I miss seeing you play piano." She looked at him.

Ranveer stared at the direction of the instrument which remained tucked underneath a large white cover, enveloping it completely. "I miss it too." He had received it as a gift few years ago on his birthday from his Mota Babuji when he'd found out Ranveer could play the piano. But he was forced to abandon it once Baa found out about it. It was a miracle the instrument wasn't taken away from him. It was a gift given by his Mota Babuji, and Ishani loved to hear him play.

Softly, he walked over, willing to pull the cover away from the piano. A smile formed on his lips. But instead of doing it, he turned away.

"I think it's late. Go back."

"But I really wanted to listen to you play piano today. Just because Baa doesn't like it, doesn't mean you'll have to give up on something."

"Not today, Ishani."

"But why?"

Her habit of questioning would never go. "You won't understand. Now, go back. Let's hope no one finds out you've been here all along instead of your room."

They both realized the rain had stopped, only the wind sighed slowly.

"Later, do you promise?" She yawned. "I mean piano?"

She was the only one who took interest in anything he did, including the piano. "Promise." Ranveer nodded.

"Alright. I'm going to sleep." She again yawned heavily.

"First change in better clothes before you go to sleep," Ranveer said as he supported her to stand on her feet. "Do you want me to help you getting to the room?"

"No, Mamma!" Ishani said, feigning irritation as she walked out, Ranveer walking beside her. He smiled at her antics as Ishani struggled to keep her eyes open from sleep. Despite her protests Ranveer dropped her by the entrance of the Mansion, hoping no further trouble was created. But thankfully everyone was asleep.

"This guy will never change." He heard her murmur before she disappeared in the dark.

Ranveer entered the Parekh Mansion as the chores awaited him the next day. As soon as he reached the hall, the voices of the children of the family followed him, asking for help. Some called him to make coffee and others to have their breakfast ready before they left for the college or their destined works. Having been an expert at what he did, it didn't take more than 45 minutes for Ranveer to finish the job as all left finally, leaving the house silent. It was only his job to go to the office today and meet Harshad Parekh's associates to see the developments in the projects he was entrusted with.

At last, however, the familiar sound of the footsteps resounded from behind and Ranveer turned to find Ishani groping towards him in a green Saree. The girl was a surprise package: she never wore sarees!

"What?" Ranveer stared at her, mouth wide open as he made best efforts not to burst into the fits of laughter at her appearance. "You are wearing a saree? Are you alright?" He touched her forehead with his palm as if to check the temperature.

"I'm perfectly alright," Ishani said, yanking his hand away from her forehead in irritation. "It's just this stupid saree." Ishani struggled to pick one corner of the pallu that hung from the lose end.

"It's simple," Ranveer said and walked towards her.

Ishani raised an eyebrow. "Simple?"

"Of course! See, if you can't handle the pallu of your saree like this. Pin it right and it'll not slip."

"I've been trying for hours and hours!" Ishani said, irritated at her own words. "It just won't come off properly." She gestured towards the various unkempt places her saree showed in bad shape and growled. "See? It's too bad!"

"Why're you even trying them anyway?"

Ishani sighed. "Papa's old friend is returning from the US and is throwing a high profile' party. Maa wants us to go there and look perfect... just in case a handsome dude shows up and asks my hand for marriage, Maa would be more than happy."

Ranveer remained silent for a while, trying to collect the thoughts and gulped. "And?"

"I'll kick him if he ever shows up!" Ishani scowled. And Ranveer smiled. The Ishani he loved would never change. Never.

"In that case, you can try anything," he said. "Although it won't matter because you always look the same, uninteresting creature, no matter what you wear."

Ishani glared harder. "You are... Ugghh! God, help me please!" She appeared on the verge of tears by now and Ranveer couldn't help but pity her.

"Alright! I'll help you. Don't worry."

"You surely don't know how to make one wear a Saree, right?"

"I do."

Ishani stared at him, stunned, for a minute before she blinked again and observed him closely. "How come I didn't know this until now?"

"Told you: an artiste never shares the secrets of his art. It's an art, you know. Anyway, let me help you."

Slowly, Ishani sauntered towards him and Ranveer observed the saree, giving her a smile. "Who did this?"

"Chaitali Kaki."

"Oh..." He stifled a chuckle. "Well, here is it." Ranveer took the pallu from another side, leaving enough for later to arrange the pleats and secured the rest on her blouse on the shoulder with a pin. Then he picked up the remaining part, folding them gently until they made for a charming set of the pleats and Ishani tucked them in place. "Now, it's all right. See? It wasn't hard at all."

Ishani looked at herself, smoothing the creases of the saree and smiled. "Wow, this looks... much better. So, here comes another secret of Ranveer Vaghela. I suppose before the end, I'm going to know a lot about you all that you've kept hidden from me until now."

Ranveer gave her a smile. "Try me."

It was the next afternoon when Harshad Parekh returned, announcing that Ranveer was supposed to accompany Ishani and Disha in the party, too. It was his friend's son that had returned after seven years from the US and his parents had thrown a welcome party for him. Ishani was excited to have him by her side, thanking her father for sending someone who wouldn't let her feel lonely in the crowds of the strangers. Although, she didn't say any of this when he was there, instead when she thought he wasn't looking. They had had a fight with each other, just like everytime before when they wouldn't reach a conclusion on the matters related to Harshad Parekh.

"You're jealous!" Ranveer told Ishani who scowled evilly at him, the most dangerous look he could ever remember her giving him.

"Papa, why do you let him so speak so much? He's so annoying!" Ishani whined and her father had smiled.

"Because Ranveer is like a son to me." He looked at Ranveer before taking him in his embrace and Ranveer gave a warm smile.

Ishani fumed.

The fight didn't come to an end until Falguni turned up and the atmosphere was forced to become cold. Ishani and Ranveer still argued and Ranveer had retreated. "Alright, no one can win against women and especially when the woman is Ishani Parekh. End of the fight."He left to prepare for the party and Ishani had gone her own way.

Being the helper of the family, it was his duty to follow the orders of his Master. Even if his Mota Babuji didn't express so, he knew he couldn't say no. Nothing he would ever deny that gave his Mota Babuji happiness.

Ranveer looked over in the small collection of his clothes to wear one for the party in the evening. After a 5 minute search he found a white kurta placed amidst several of his well-worn dresses. But they were old now and their colours almost faded.

"They're too old," he said to himself.

A voice answered. "What are you doing, Ranveer?"

Ranveer looked back and saw his father entering the room with a bag in his hand. "Baba... Mota Babuji is sending me to a party. I'm just looking for some decent cloths to wear."

"What about those you wore on Gauri's marriage?" his father asked.

"Those weren't my clothes, Baba. I'd borrowed them from somewhere and returned back after the marriage."

"Oh!" His father looked thoughtful. "And you don't even have any other better cloths either."

"No, no. There are these." Ranveer pointed to the ones he deemed were suitable for the purpose... were they? Not too new, but not too old either. They would do for now.

His father glared at him. "You've been wearing them since last 12 months, Ranveer. How many times do I need to tell you to get a new kurta for you?"

"Baba," Ranveer answered, "I'm saving money so that we can buy a new house... Especially after the case we're about to lose. Baba, can't we do anything about it?"

His father sighed and shook his head. "I talked to our lawyer and he showed no hope, really. I'll be visiting our home to see how I can help. Might take a few weeks. But anyway, that's not the matter of concern right now. Wear anything you like."

"No, Baba," Ranveer said. "Mota Babuji's given me such a huge responsibility... for him I'll have to look good. Otherwise, you know, people will talk about him only." He picked up a blue kurta from the heap of the rest. "I think I'll wear this one. What say, Baba?"

"No, not at all!" Kailash shook his head vehemently. "You've worn it several times already. And it won't leave a good impression in the party either. Try something else. Also, I've stitched it so many times already that it might want to get retired permanently now. Look it's begging for one again." His father showed the torn side of the cloth and looked at him questioningly.

Ranveer fell silent, remembering how once Ishani had loved him in this kurta. How could he put on anything else? "No," he said and smiled. "Only this one, please, Baba!"

"Alright, I'm stitching it for the last time." Kailash took the kurta from Ranveer's hand and left.

Ranveer smiled, thanking his father and apologizing too. "Baba, I promise to pay each and every sacrifice you and Maa made for me." He sighed as he turned back to finish the chores before he left in the evening.

"Ranveer!" Ishani's voice called out loudly as she stormed into his room like heavy rain tumbling down.

"Ishani!" Ranveer said, shocked by her sudden arrival. "Can't you knock at the door first before you enter my room?"

"Oh, hello! I suppose I'll have to use a blindfold before roaming around your room. The damsel in distress that you are."

"Yep, like Sunny Deol that you are."

"Don't call me Sunny Deol! And, by the way, why are you making Kaka stitch your clothes?"

"Because I need it for the party tonight."

"Wow, why don't you buy a new one then?"

Ranveer remained silent.

"Oh, stupid. Take this." Ishani handed him over a green kurta that he'd missed to notice at her sudden appearance. Thankfully, she didn't look mad at him for their fight of a while ago.

"This?" Ranveer asked hesitantly.

"Papa sent it for you," Ishani explained. "You're wearing it tonight for the party. Happy now?"

"Yes." Ranveer nodded.

"Now, when are you buying a new kurta for yourself?"

"I'm saving my money."

"For what?" she asked.

"For marriage!"

Ishani looked alerted. "You've found someone?" Her curiosity rising.

What on earth was so amusing about this? Why was she so happy? Ranveer looked at her, unsure what to say next and then shook his head. "No."

"Great. You aren't going to find anyone either." Ishani chuckled.

"Why?" Ranveer asked suddenly.

Ishani laughed heartily before uttering the next words. "Who do you think is going to help you with your other stupid quests...like helping you with your nada or tying your shoelaces all the time?"

Ranveer frowned. "Alright, alright. You can leave now."

Ishani turned to leave, glancing over her shoulders at him.

"Go, Ishani! Hey, wait!"

"What?" Ishani turned back.

"Thanks."

"For what?"

"For getting the kurta along. Thank you."

Ishani smiled and mouthed a small "you are welcome" to him before leaving.

This girl would never grow up! Ranveer smiled.

"You look like the only one who's not at all excited about going to the party. Look at Disha, Devarsh, and Pratiek. Seems like they're all going to win a lottery today," Ranveer said as Ishani joined him on the gates, wearing a simple dress instead of the saree she had rehearsed the whole day. Thank God she didn't put on the saree. He knew she couldn't handle it on her own. However, he decided not to ask about it.

Ishani nodded her head, remaining quieter than usual. It was after a while that she spoke. "Maa knows I don't like going to the parties. God knows what's wrong with her. You know, she even confronted Baa about the matter yesterday... the two got into a nasty argument until Papa came and handled the matter."

"So you're upset about that?"

"No, that I'm the reason there's always something going on in the family. Like everyday either Maa or Baa keep creating a scene and I'm always the center of it. Ranveer, you know, I want a peaceful life. I don't want to be the reason of anyone's sufferings. Not Baa's. Not Maa and Papa's. And never yours." She looked up at him, her eyes flickering.

Ranveer smiled. "You are never the cause of anyone's suffering, Ishani. Trust me. When Baa says something to you, it's not your fault. It's her prejudices which don't let her live in the present and she keeps slipping in an era that no more exists. When Mota Babuji takes your and Falguni Maa's side, he isn't going against his family. He's just doing what any husband or father would do to protect his family. He loves you both and will do anything for you sake, Ishani." Ranveer remained silent for a moment.

"And?"

He continued. "When Falguni Maa says something, you aren't causing her any trouble, no. She's worried about you. And after everything she's been through you can't blame her either, can you? Being abandoned by your husband when you're so vulnerable and being left alone for life will always leave anyone bitter, and..."

"But Maa found Papa!" Ishani interrupted.

"Yes, but she could never forget her first love. That's her tragedy." Ishani looked at Ranveer as his voice carried the edge of sadness this time.

"Shouldn't Maa value Papa?" she asked softly, not raising her voice above a whisper only he could hear. "Someone who gave her a name and accepted her for who she is?"

Ranveer nodded his head. "She does value him in the ways she can. She loves him too," Ranveer said. "It's just different from what we've assumed all our lives. When she was abandoned all those years ago, she didn't know how to go on because she loved someone else so much who'd shown her how unworthy she was. But then Mota Babuji came, giving her hope, and she learned to live again. She loves Mota Babuji and you can see it right there. She just doesn't know how to express it or tell him in any better way than she does. The best thing about them is that Mota Babuji understands this all and respects her that way."

Ishani looked at him silently, hoping him to continue.

"And you can never forget your first love, Ishani. Never," Ranveer said with a smile, sadness of his tone suddenly making Ishani uncomfortable while his eyes stared straight into hers. "This is the thing about first love, you know. You don't understand how and when you develop certain feelings for them, creating a small, exquisite world full of dreams and happiness where you and your beloved live; you make sure to open your heart to a certain vulnerability. The same vulnerability that even becomes your weakness because to let that feeling overcome you, you have to allow yourself to be consumed by that emotion completely. So much that it becomes your identity, a part so intimae to you that you never wish that love goes away even if you know they're not going to love you back. But when that love is returned, the tiny spark in your heart bursts to life, the old fire consuming you but giving birth to a newer you that is created with love and passion for a soul you have deemed to be a part of you. When that love shatters and your heart breaks... it brings down that entire universe you created, destroying you piece by piece by the most painful torment you can feel, silently. Life and death become synonyms and you can't help it anymore. This is how first love is, Ishani. It's dangerous. Some are lucky to find someone who wills to pick up the broken pieces of you and hold them together, even if it's hurting them. This is exactly what Mota Babuji did when he married Falguni Maa. He helped her become whole. Even if she could never let go of the hurt, she did accept the happiness which came her way and Mota Babuji accepted you both because he could love his wife so much."

Ishani blinked several times, unable to believe the long lecture she heard just now. Ranveer could see Ishani shivered as she opened her mouth to say something but remained quite. She shook her head. "It all couldn't be real, right?"

Ranveer himself realized the weight of his words as he faintly remembered them coming. "What?" he asked slowly.

"What you just told me."

He shrugged his shoulders. "It is. You won't understand it now. But when you fall in love with someone you'll know exactly what I meant today." Ranveer's voice trembled as he spoke and he took a deep breath before continuing further. "It's not simple, Ishani, but this how love is."

Ishani opened her mouth to say something but the silence was disturbed by the loud noise of her cousins rushing towards them. They shouted as they all walked outside, together, wearing their most expensive clothes.

"How do we look?" they asked and Ishani and Ranveer smiled, implying they looked good.

"Come on, guys! We're getting late," Ranveer said as he made his way to the car.

"No, no, Ranveer," Devarsh said. "We'll be coming in another car. We're to pick a friend of ours. We'll come with him."

"Disha, you--?" Ranveer asked, but before Ranveer finished his sentence she walked by Devarsh's side.

"I'll better come with my cousins. Thanks, but no thanks." She darted towards the car that had arrived without Ranveer noticing it, and sat in it.

Ranveer turned towards Ishani and looked apologetically at her.

"It's alright, Ranveer. We should go as well."

They left, Ishani sitting next to Ranveer on the front seat as he drove quietly away.

"Can you delay the journey a bit, Ranveer?" Ishani said and without a question, Ranveer took a detour to the Mansion the party was held in. He looked at her. Something was eating her from inside, but she wouldn't say it.

"Ishani, what's wrong?"

Ishani glanced at him and shook her head.

"Come on!" he insisted. "Are you still worried about the Baa matter? Let her go, Ishani."

"No. I just don't like going to the party. Not in general, but specifically this party. Something makes me want to run away before even going there."

"Relax!" he said, by mistake placing his hand on hers. Ishani did not draw away, and smiled. "No matter what happens, Ishani, I'm always going to be there by your side."

Her smile widened. "Even if I don't say it, Ranveer, you're the only one I can trust blindly. I hope you'll never break my trust. Never, right?"

Ranveer stared at Ishani, unable to form the words and softly smiled. "Never."

He couldn't help but wonder if she'll ever know what he felt for her. Would Ishani take that as a betrayal to their friendship? Would things change between them forever? Or could he conceal his love from her for the rest of his life just like he did so far? Even if he remained silent about it, he, too couldn't deny the flutter of his heart as he looked at her today. As if something was different. What, he couldn't point out, but it was something right there. Oh no. It couldn't be. He was just over thinking the matters because of Ishani. Silly girl had the knack of filling his mind with doubts as well. And she'd done it again today.

"What are you thinking, Ranveer?" Ishani asked.

"About everything," he answered, pulling himself away from the thoughts. "Anyway, who's host of this party? I'm afraid I don't know."

"Chirag Mehta," Ishani said. "Papa's friend's son. US return."

Ranveer nodded, unable to keep an uneasiness from creeping in his heart.

Could this be his mind playing the tricks with him?

Thank you, Asif! Glad you liked the chapter. :) Oh, Chirag! I know. I've wished so many times that he shouldn't have existed at all. More because his presence is a torture to Ranveer. Sighs. Never mind. Thank you again.

Hi Elvish
You are a great writer.
Actually I always try not to read something that's related to ishveer's childhood or when ranveer was servant. Because it always hurts me to see him hiding his love for her.though his eyes reveal the passion of his love, his pain and his trust on her.
Whenever I see his eyes they make me cry.

Rains, yes in this case they both have different views. Ishani is still a innocent kid who doesn't know how cruel the world is. While he has gone through all the pain. Most painful that he loves someone and he can't tell her about it. For him rain is tears.

About saree then ranveer is master. His mother made him all rounder.

He is a responsible son. Yes amba and kailash are lucky to have him as son.

Remember it is almost a year since matsh has ended.
Yesterday was 6 and according to me their last shoot was on 6 (if not wrong).
And yesterday I again saw their last shoot video while I was surfing on YouTube.( I cried )
They have moved further but I am still here waiting for them to return.

Anyways update next soon and again it was very nice chapter.

hi elvish how are you
nope I haven't disappeared from forum but is less active these days due to busy schedule but i do make a point to visit for updates.
girl the most important thing this last para of first love brought tears to my eyes really
now from the start ishani enjoying rain and he just love to see her innocence something that makes him proud of his own choice
the meaning behind she loving and he not liking rains is very well written i don't understand how you come up with such hidden expression to various emotion it always makes me go specchless and i literally search for words to describe how wonderful it felt while reading them. amazing dear really amazing. and he can never take the fact that he can be the reason for her sadness and he will do anyting to deny it which is the same thing he is doing now
poor guy he is so much allergic and you know their small moments like this are making my heart heavy with the upcoming storm thats awaiting to blow apart their innocence.
ishani making tea ranveer should consider ths as 8 wonder but i like the fact that for him she goes to any length and makes him happy
now what problem does this baa have with him playing the piano does the tunes remind her of her own first unrequited love 😲 i mean she just have to get angry at each and everything.
saree she was practicing saree to meet chirkut really do know what's with this saree and ishveer chemistry it always bring smile on my face whenever he drapes the saree. and out of all the people she sought help of chaitali for it šŸ˜†šŸ˜†
for once he should have said try me to us 😳😳
this blending was awesome that scene of kurta and she asking and annoying him more and ya how perfectly you camoflagd the missing part of nada with describing it every time you leave me speechless with your little mixing and blending and it makes the story more intersting and leaves me anticipating what happened how it will happen
as i told you the para of him defending falguni and first love is as mesmerizing as it can get thsi was simply wow i guess i have already read that part 5 times
Elvish i don't know how you do it but there is soemthing about the way you write pain it makes it more intrguing and leaves a sadness in my heart that is the power of your writing and thsi is last time they are going as pure innocent hearted with friendship as their only binding factor form henceforth the things will change and that's why there is brooding part tucking at their heart
perfect dear the lst part in this whole chapter was really marvellous
i am loving this story more andmore day by day wiht every update
and its right about first love thats the reason that ishani haven't forgot ranveer and his esence yet despite trying so hard for it.
very well written chapter dear and once again you descripted every nuance brilliantly

Actually I always try not to read something that's related to ishveer's childhood or when ranveer was servant. Because it always hurts me to see him hiding his love for her.though his eyes reveal the passion of his love, his pain and his trust on her.
Whenever I see his eyes they make me cry.

Hi, girl! After a long time! How are you? Coming to the review, thank you very much. :) About your first point, I agree. It hurts to see him hiding his love and especially knowing he's going to end up heartbroken in a while and Ishani somehow will be oblivious to his sacrifices and pains.

Ishani is innocent who has seen the world so far with the lens of presence of his. She knows he's there to protect her all the time.

True. His mom made him an allrounder. Ah, girl! Don't watch that video if it hurts so much. :( I've only seen its glimpse somewhere and Shakti's breakdown had me in tears. And the show shoot ended somewhere around 4 or 5th Feb. The news of it going off air was doing the rounds but it was made clear sometime after, IIRC. Sighs. Can't believe we're still stuck! Don't cry, girl. Actors have moved on, yeah. Most of the fans did too. I will try updating the next chapter soon. :)

Hey, dv! Sorry for the delay!

I'm good, how are you?

Thank you so much. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø I'm glad you liked the chapter.
Coming further, yes. He always feels proud of himself for his choice. Knowing Ishani can never love him doesn't affect what he feels for, or his reverence for that matter. Their innocence was brief, unfortunately. And my heart breaks for Ranveer, because somehow, he always manages to protect Ishani (you'll see a glimpse in the next chapter too) but there's no one at his side except Mukesh.

Ishani making tea was the beginning of a new era in itself. xD But Ranveer prevented the disaster.

Baa is Baa. She has problem with everything this 'servant' does. 🄱 🄱

Hahaha, I know. You know, even Ranveer would've thought the same. "Chaitali Kaki! 😲 😲" But had to remain silent. Had he said us, he'd been kicked put by Ishani herself. xD

Oh, that scene! Actually, the first phase is going to be like this. Little bit from the show in the scene, dialogues ad well as the plot. So... Nada thing will come as well. Just on another occasion where it'll fit. :D And since you're quite curious about their future, the tiniest hint I can give is certain parts I have incorporated from The Ballad of the Unsaid Love. Not too much, but certain parts, yes. So, if this helps you a little. šŸ¤”

Wow, I didn't know you liked that part this much. Thank you so much, girl. ā¤ļøā¤ļø And they will remain innocent for a more while before the obvious happens and the blow will hit him first. Watching that episode on Rishtey'd made me cry. 🄺🄺🄺 Last time he was whole and unbroken. And since then his life had been a living hell due to Chirkut.

Thank you again, dv! Your love keeps me going. ā¤ļøā¤ļø

I will update the next chapter soon. Though I'm stuck between writing and drooling over the baby. Need to focus on writing. šŸ˜† šŸ˜†

Hi, Elvish!!

Flawless update, you perfectly described ishvee rain scenes. Everything was loveable.šŸ‘

Ishu never think before said anything to him, some time she really hurt him with her harsh words,

"Sorry", I don't think just to say Sorry. We can reduced the prick of the pain , a person suffered through.

Well he always forget about himself, whenever he saw her in pain or laughing.

Her pain made him hurt, her laugh made him happy like everything, her present made him alive, and her absents mostly made him dead.

Thank, ranveer didn't allowed her to made tea, If she tried, I'm sure she had putted salt instead of sugar.

So in next episode there will be chirkut entry, let see how you will portrayed his entry and char.

Thanks for the lovely update.
