Chapter 4


The Surprise


"Congratulations Bhalla sahab.." Mr Iyer hugged Mr Bhalla as their kids go with the proposal and the engagement date fixed.

"So?" Raman whisperer in her ear.

"What?" She asked blushing.

"So finally you agreed to marry a guy whose name is some old fashioned.. Raman Bhalla..!" Ishita smiled while rolling her eyes.

"Ahem ahem..!" Sanjh cleared her throat standing behind them when they stepped back from each other embarrassed. "Guys control..! You are standing in front of your family."

Raman scratched his forehead and took leave from there embarrassed, Ishita looked away when Sanjh put her elbow on Ishita's should saying, "Finally you find your Prince Charming."

Ishita looked at Raman who was playing with Shravan, feeling her eyes on him he looked at her and smiled. "Yeah..! I found."

"You like him so much?" Sanjh asked looking at Ishita's glowing face.

"Like? I love him." Ishita said dreamily.

"What?" Sanjh slightly shook her in shock which broke Ishita's trance and making her turn at her, "When it happened?"

"What?" Ishita asked confused.

"Ish..!" Sanjh gasped but immediately Ishita said, "Hey don't call me that."

"Now what's there in this name?" Sanjh sighed.

"Only he has right to call me in that name." Ishita said blushing.

"He?" Sanjh said little shocked, "Someone changed."

"Whatever..!" Ishita rolled her eyes.

"Anyways tell me did you confess?" Sanjh excitedly asked.

"What confess?" Ishita defend herself when Sanjh sighed and dragged her from there and took her in room.

"Ishu, I am your best friend so please don't try to be over smart. Okay?" She said serious. "Now tell me did you express your feelings?"

Ishita sighed, "No. And why would I need to express? See..! I said yes for this proposal so it's obvious that I like him."

"Ishu, liking someone and loving someone is completely different yaar. We can like anyone but love.. It's only for someone special."

"Sanjh.. I don't think we need to confess. Without saying much we already expressed enough."

"God.. You are unbelievable. Fine.. Did he express, did he say that he loves you." Sanjh asked curious.

"No..!"

"Ishu, I think you should express your feelings. I understand your relationship with him is more like friends but yaar, you both are going to marry and in every relation love is important. So, sometimes it would be good if you say some unspoken words." Sanjh tried to convince.

"Okay.. But why me? He can propose me, after all he is boy and you know boys first express." Ishita said making a pout.

"You are behaving like teenage." Sanjh sighed.

"I don't care. But you know what I dream always." Ishita said resting her chin on her palm.

"Yeah yeah.. You and your dream.. What do you dream like..." Sanjh said scratching her forehead, "Oh yeah, your prince charm will take to you to a sea beach, he will go on his knees and will propose you under the open sky and you both will dance in snow.. I mean... Seriously?? Snow?? Okay.. I can digest the dream till you dance but snow? Can you please tell me, in this entire world is there any location available where you can get snowfall near ocean side?" She sighed.

"It's my dream.. Why are you so bother about it?" Ishita said rolling her eyes.

"You are impossible Ishu."

"So I am.." Ishita winked.

Ishita was looking at the moon, she was recalling the moments from when she met with him, her life changed somewhere. She smiled, "He is the best thing happened with me in this year. I wish we live together forever." She was so lost in her thoughts when suddenly her phone rang. A smile came on her lips seeing the caller ID.

"Hello?"

"What's going on?" Raman asked.

"Nothing. You say?"

"Nothing.. Actually Ish.." He paused, sensing something serious, she asked, "What happened?"

"Ish, I have to leave for Paris in next days."

"Paris? Suddenly?"

"Yeah. Just now I got a call from my foreign clients."

"Oh.. I see.. When are you going?" She asked disappoint.

"On 2nd January."

"What..!" She exclaimed. "I mean, will you be stay away from your family at the start of the year?"

"Only family?" He asked suspicious when Ishita didn't say anything when he said, "I'll make it up to you.. Actually.. I just wanted to ask you something Ish..!"

"Hmm.. Say.."

"What's your plan for 31st Eve..?"

"Nothing."

"Can we go for dinner?"

"Yeah.. Okay.. No problem." She smiled.

"Okay then I will pick you at 7pm."

"Okay." Saying this Ishita was about to cut the call when Raman called her saying, "Ish listen..!"

"Hmm?"

Raman paused for a while and then said, "Nothing." There was silence for few seconds, Ishita smiled and then they cut the call.

Ishita woke up next morning and then she get freshen up and walked down when she heard the doorbell, Ishita opened the door and saw a guy standing with a flower bouquet. "Ma'am this one for you." Ishita looked at the bouquet and received it.

She walked in while checking the flower for some note when she saw a small note written 'Your Raman' Ishita smiled brightly and walked in her blushing. She smells the roses and admired them when she saw another note. She read..

"Ish.. Good morning.. Hope this small thing makes you smile. I know you were upset with me last night but you know work important. But believe me I will make it up to you. Today I will make your day special. And that's why I am starting it with your favorite flowers, I know you like roses. I just wish it can bring the beautiful smile on your face." Ishita smiled brightly and read further, "... And yes, after getting the gifts don't call me because I won't pick your calls. I will see you in the evening and be ready for surprises."

"Surprise? He is mad." She chuckled and again admired the roses and then pick her phone to call him but remembered his words so she stopped. She placed the bouquet on its place and walked down.

Another one hour left, in this one hour she had checked the phone almost 50 times to know whether he called her or not. She was anxiously tapping her feet on the floor when she heard doorbell, she almost ran to open the door and found no one, she looked around confused and saw few kids where playing, she thought they would played prank and about to turn when she noticed a basket near the door. Ishita came on her knees and saw a Rabbit. "Oh my God..!" She almost jumped.

Ishita picked the Rabbit in her arms and caressed his head, "You are so cute.." Suddenly Ishita noticed something tying on his neck, she carefully untied it and put the Rabbit on the floor. She opened the cloth and saw a watch with a note. She read.

"I know, you are getting impatient to meet me or to talk with me, and I know your every minute is passing like a year. Even I am waiting for the moment anxiously. But you know it says, distance brings two heart more close and just enjoy the distance because when we will meet, the moment will become more and more special. And yes.. I know you are missing me like a hell, so I send you my friend... His name is Bunny. And you know what's the best part in it? He has a girl friend Lucy whom I kept." Ishita laughed and continued reading, "I told Bunny... Actually signed a deal.. I asked him to take good care of you until I permanently take you in my house.. And till then I will not let him meet Lucy. Isn't great?"

Ishita laughed saying, "You are crazy. Completely crazy." She looked at Bunny and again pick him saying, "Your friend is devil.. But don't worry I will help you to meet with your Lucy." She kissed on his soft body.

Ishita's rest of the time spend with Bunny, she became friendly with him and played a lot with him. Near the time 5:30 pm, the doorbell rang. She knew this would be another surprise from Raman.

Ishita opened the door and saw a guy standing there smiling, "Ma'am.. This one for you." She received the gift and ran to the room.

She excitedly opened the box and saw a beautiful pink gown, she took her in her hand, "It's so beautiful, I just love it. See bunny, what your friend send.." She placed the dress on her body and admired herself looking at the mirror.

She saw the note inside the box and read, "I hope you like the dress. Though I am not good in selecting dresses but I felt you will look pretty in it, so I bought it."

"I love it Raman." She smiled with a blush.

Ishita was getting ready in that pink off shoulder gown, she wore a diamond earrings and placed her hair on right shoulder, Ishita admired herself, "Perfect..!"

She was waited for the car arriving and in next moment, she heard the horn. Ishita peeped through the curtain and recognized Roman's car, she quickly climbed down the stairs and bid bye to her parents.

Ishita walked out from the house and saw Raman was standing leaning on the car, she checked him top to bottom, he was wearing black suit and looking handsome as usual, Ishita couldn't help but stared at him and walked to him. Raman smiled and saw her lost, he snapped his fingers and flicked his eyes, Ishita looked away embarrassed with a nod.

"You like the dress?"

"It's beautiful."

"Thank God.." He sighed in relief.

"But what's special in today? You surprised me back to back."

Raman smiled and tucked her hair strand making her shiver under his touch, "I told you no, I will make it up to you. And it's just the start. Let's go..!" He opened the door for her and then he gets inside the driver sit and they left.

Raman stopped the car and looked at Ishita who curiously looking outside. Raman went to her side and opened the door while offering his hand to her. "Raman?"

"Please come..!" Ishita smiled and walked out holding his hand.

"My friend organized new year party here and they asked me to take you here."

"Oh.." She sighed.

"Come..!" Raman entangled his fingers with hers and they walked in.

Inside the hall, the party was on its peak. All are enjoying, Raman Ishita walked in hand in hand and his friends welcome them. They introduced themselves with Ishita and then they all were enjoying, the girls took Ishita at the corner and there they took sit on the sofa whereas Raman joined the men group. Ishita engaged herself with the girls but sometimes she felt discomfort and checked Raman. Soon the girls joined the dance floor leaving her alone, though they asked Ishita but she prefer to be alone for sometime. Seeing her sitting alone, Raman came leaned on the side arm of the sofa asking, "What happened? Getting bored?"

"No..! But don't like to dance." She replied with a smile. And then Ishita noticed the wine glass in his hand, "Are you drinking?"

"No yaar.. It's cold drink, taste it.. If you don't believe." Raman forwarded the glass.

"No thank you."

"Okay come.. Let's go to dance floor." Raman said holding her hand but she stopped him saying, "No Raman.. Not in mood." He sighed and settled beside her. Ishita smiled.

"Well Raman.. Why were you giving me back to back surprises from morning?" She asked looking at him.

"Have patience baby.." He winked making her blush.

The evening went well, they enjoyed. Then around 10pm, Raman excused as he got a call, so he walked out from there and then almost 15 minutes left, Raman didn't come. Ishita walked out to search him but didn't find him anywhere when a hotel stuff came there asking, "Ma'am.. Are you Ishita Iyer?"

Ishita nodded. "Ma'am.. Raman sir is waiting for you in room number 301. Here's the key."

"Raman? Raman Bhalla?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Oho.. Mr Bhalla.. Another surprise..! Impressive." Ishita thought and looked at the stuff with a nod. Then he showed her the way of the room and Ishita left.

Ishita took a deep breath standing outside the door, she slowly opened the door and found some dim lights turned on. "Raman?" She called his name while walking in.

She looked at bed and a saw a heart shape making with rose petals and a gift box kept in the middle of the heart. Ishita looked on curious and pick the box. She opened the box and saw a saree with a note.

"I know, you might be confuse that why gift you the saree. Well Ish.. I always saw you in western dresses but now where I will take you.. The place is very special and I want you to look special and that's why I gift this. Please wear it for me."

Ishita looked at the saree and posted, "it's beautiful but how to wear it." She was thinking when the doorbell rang. Ishita opened it and saw a lady stuff standing, "Ma'am do you need any help?"

"No.." She immediately replied but in next moment said, "Actually yes.. I mean.. Can you please help me to wear the saree?" She asked scratching her forehead.

"Sure ma'am."

Ishita looked herself in the mirror after getting ready. "Ma'am this one for you."

Ishita unfolded the paper and read, "Your car is waiting outside. Please come quickly."

"What is he up to?" She wondered and took leave from there.

That's all for now. Though I decided to write few more but not in mood anymore. Hope you will like it and waiting for votes and comments.
