The Shivika journey!!

Okay, so here is my take on this.

There are two "Shivika" we are watching onscreen. I think this is deliberate, and they've been pretty clear on this concept since the wedding scenes. One is the version they present to the world where they act like husband / wife or enemies or about to be divorced, clingy wife / about to be divorced clingy husband. The public Shivika face changes based on their needs.

And please note the use of the word THEY.

This is not something Shivaay has done separately, he's had help. Whether Anika was complicit in their wedding, she was absolutely complicit in assisting Shivaay in this public/private doubling of who they are. Even the bomb scare reveal underlined this. Hate him for what he has done? Punish him in the most devastating way you know? Umm..no. That's our business. (Omru being put in their place- Ye hamara apas ka mama hai, anyone?.)

Anika's faith on Shivaay is completely irrational, and is based on her belief he needs her, something that nothing shakes --not even him. She does stuff that is foolhardy or rash, but she does it because she truly thinks she has that right. His rabid concern for her is absolutely irrational, and he cannot justify it, and its based on his total certainty she needs him. Its even more underlined, through that spidey - sense of his, showing how instinctive it is, how right. In their private scenes (and increasingly in their public ones) both of them act with full rights on each other, and those are based on completely unspoken sentiment, understood privately, between them.

That is why she doesn't need to yell at him for letting her sauten Tia come close to him. She knows something is up. He doesn't need to yell at her for throwing the "mother of his child" out of his room. He knows its because she knows something is up. Its just..understood.

The private part of Shivika is what we saw onscreen tonight. Who they are with each other is privately held by them, for them. Without anyone outside being given access to it. They even have their own language now. Literally the man who didn't understand her speech, now uses her words to code with her. And, miraculously, she understands his shorthand, when she never understood his words before --he only indicates, and she interprets that he wants to keep her with him after DIVORCING her. Spoken in their private language, it matters more than his public actions.

And so he has an equation with her that is him and her, in a bubble of their own. Tonight, for me, him touching and teasing her and her smiling and letting herself enjoy--its is not meant to be a public version of "Shivika."

I don't think we should compare his affection and flirtation or her coyness and smiles with their public persona. That version of Shivika is what they do for the world, with clear conscequences for their performance ( a fake divorce, a fake baby momma, some hidden thing that compels SSO to tolerate Tia, some unknown blackmail of SSO Anika can practically smell, Om's truth that SSO cannot share, etc). All of that keeps him frozen on the bed while a snake wraps around him, and makes him grin with delight when he is rescued by a Durga. He even teases Durga, for the rescue.


But what happened tonight? That is purely for them. Between, them. The outside world is not welcome, not acknowledged, not a factor. Tia, Divorce, her NKK, His. None of it matter. Its Shivaay and Anika, as they are to and with, each other. Outside realities don't intrude on their inner world.

Lovedd your post ! Just one point - Shivaay hasn't signed the divorce papers yet, just that Annika think he has haina ? But that said I loved their scenes today and in precap, just wish this Tia drama was not concurrent. I would have loved for some of these scenes to have happened after Daksh episode and before Tia pregnancy drama. Although in some sense, both Shivaay and Annika don't believe the kid is Shivaay's so I guess its fine. I'm happy with the shivika scenes we are getting as long as they proceed sensibly.

I think Shivaay is prone to running after things that aren't supposed to be his! Everytime he is forced to choose between two options, he gives justifications to himself why option 1 is better than option 2, chooses the first option with a lot of fanfare, and then runs behind the 2nd option (because that is what he wanted all along). Annika is always his option No. 2. Yes we can argue that he made her sign the divorce papers but didn't sign them himself. But can the audience guarantee that he will never sign then. What if the Kapoor females up the ante and he signs the papers eventually albeit reluctantly!

I think it's getting to a point where Shivaay can't control himself around Anika. I think he knows he is heads over heels in love with her but just can't admit it.

I don't know if this will makes sense or not or whether it would be short or long.
The one advantage the CVs have kept for themselves with Shivaay's character is that they have made him unpredictable as Anika has pointed out so many times. His real conflict is in whether to listen to his heart or his head. So the person who is at the receiving end of the consequences of his decisions is always as confused as he is.
Bcoz neither he himself nor the person has any idea with what he is gonna take his decision. When we think he is gonna use his head he goes with his heart & we end up being confused.
Second I noticed is that he loves to stay comfortable. He was comfortable with Anika being his wife & Tia on standby bcoz that way he makes both his head & heart happy. As soon as Tia pointed out about the divorce he went on his mute mode.
So till now it has been like this. Anika does all the work for their relationship. She is the one protecting them when Shivaay wishfully blinds himself from the problem whether they come for him or her.
And he has been deciding for both of them, to be together, to get married, to divorce anything, he is the one who is deciding.
So untill they show him going through the conflict of head or heart. Untill they make him realise that the mental satisfaction he gets from saving his family's reputation is far less in front of the happiness Anika brings him, the progression of their relationship is not going to happen. Now the CVs might take ages to make him come to this conclusion.
And I definitely would love to see that.
For what's on TV, well we are going to see the Oberois trust the Three clowns untill Anika comes & saves them yet again!

I think this is quite similar to the flirtations that happened between them after his "engagement" with Tia. He made a huge production of giving Tia a ring along with a heartfelt speech about her being the 'One' for him. Cut to the next couple of episodes we see him shadowing Annika all over OM, trying to help her carry a fruit basket, 'Bolna' sequence, and Annika too indulging in some light flirtations with him. Iska hamesha yahi rahega, either he will himself take the decision or be forced to choose Tia but he will keep on maaroing chance on Annika on the side!😆
