A lot of us are ranting that the infertility issue is not handled well.. but what we are forgetting that it is Dev and Sona here with Ish has a MIL.. when you have a MIL like Ish, I guess this is how it plays out where the MIL becomes overpowering with her emotional blackmail.. I am sure in real there have been marriages destroyed by over-possessive mothers and mean spirited relatives like GKB.
If Dev and Sona were a normal couple where Dev also had a mother like Asha, I think the first thing that mother would have done would be to console her DIL and emotionally support them in whatever they choose to do.
But here, we have Ishwari with all of her insecurities. Yesterday, they all came out with full force. She was back to ' I agreed to give my child his favorite toy' mode and now she realises the toy is defective. I understand that we were all disgusted by her dialogues yesterday, but this is exactly who she is. Emotionally manipulative and insecure about her position in her son's life. So what does she do, react the way she will do in the coming episodes. I think we need to all be prepared for her drama and its just begun and this time its going to be worse because I suspect a lot of it will happen when Dev is not around and from prior episodes, we know that Sona thinks she is capable of handling everything without letting Dev know about any of the taunts.
And coming to Sona, all of us felt she thought about Ishwari after knowing about her infertility. I had made a post on Sona's insecurity/fears yesterday. Sona knows that now her marriage is doomed. Infertility is on one side, but that Ma Ma dialogues were totally out of the fear that now Ishwari is surely going to get her out of Dev's life. Bijoy just re-iterated her fears during the phone conversation. So what will Sona do.. say yes to whatever condition Ishwari keeps because she knows her days with Dev are anyway limited. She would have walked away, so the next best option is to try to appease Ishwari and see what happens.
My hope with Sona is that she does have a nervous/emotional breakdown in a few weeks time. I do want Ishwari, Neha and GKB to push her to a corner and for her to break down for Dev to see what his love is having to face at the hands of his insensitive family. I think there is a physical separation needed, i.e. Dev getting Sona out of the crazy Dixit house. He needs to then send GKB and family out of the house, sent Neha back to Ranveer and get his mother some counselling before anything can be resolved!
Yet again, is this how infertility plays out in real life? I am sure it is different from couple to couple, family to family depending on what kind of people they have around them. There are girls who suffer through it and girls who may have great family support through it and hence manage to fight the issue with a smile on their face and here we are seeing what happens when a girl has to suffer through it.
