Chapter 11: Pratibha Bua and Radhika's Family

An elderly lady with a commanding walk and stern demeanor entered the hospital, asked at the reception for some patient's ward and strode rapidly forward.

Malini looked at Radhika gratefully, "i don't know how to thank you for everything you have done, Radhikaji"

Radhika replied, "please call me Radhika. And no thanks needed. Keshav and I work together. If we don't help our colleagues, who else? Plus, you are new here and .."

"Radhika, I m here" someone said from behind.

"Bua!" Radhika exclaimed as she ran to hug her. She then performed the introductions, after which bua said, "blood transfusion going on?"

Radhika said quietly so as not to raise Malini's anxiety yet again, "blood is yet to be delivered, but it would come soon."

Just then blood was delivered and the procedure started. Keshav and Pratibha bua sat on either side of Malini, while Radhika left to attend to her work. In a while, the doctor came out and told them that the it was done, and that they will be able to see their child in half an hour.

As the couple heaved a sigh of relief, and hugged each other in assurance, Pratibha bua took charge, "go both of u, go wash your faces and freshen up a bit. By that time, I will open this tiffin I brought. Let's have something before we see your little angel."

They protested, "but aunty, we are not.."

"I know you are not hungry. But its almost 9.45 pm and you haven't eaten anything since morning."

"but.."

"Nothing doing! I have retired as the Principal of a college and had to tackle my own share of brats" So don't behave like kids and force me to get into my strict principal mode", said she sternly.

They looked at her surprised at her tone, while she continued, "look, you are parents, not kids yourself. If you go to your little girl, looking like this, is it going to make her happy? Go now"

Such was her personality, that they both sheepishly went to freshen up without another word. By the time, they reluctantly ate dinner, it was time to see Diya.

On the other hand a visibly exhausted Radhika entered her house, only to concerned questions from Abhi, on whether Diya was okay, her treatments, etc. on the other hand both her kids needed her for something or the other. Radhika was ready to pull her hair out by now. She needed a breather so badly, she quickly excused herself and went to take a shower, though she rarely took a shower this late at night.

As the water cascaded on her, she felt some of her exhaustion melt away. After she had returned to her office, she had had to deal with a difficult client, had to work on 10 urgent files and see to keshav's urgent work as well. Sometimes, she felt like running away from everything and everyone!

She came out, bracing herself for at least another hour and half's work. It was already 10 pm, she sighed to herself as she saw the time. Just then, lil Ryan came there and took her hand in his small ones.

"Ma, come!" Radhika followed him, wondering what the little one wanted from her now. But the next moment, she was surprised.

Abhi was heating food in microwave, while Rohan was preparing a plate for her, just as she liked it.

Abhi said, "start Rads, I m sure you must have only downed cups of coffee since lunch, you must be hungry." It was then that Radhika realized how hungry she actually was. Rohan and Ryan lovingly fed her with their own hands while Abhi sat opposite and smiled at the trio.

Radhika looked into her husband's eyes and smiled a contented smile. She had a wonderful family and she was grateful for it. She wouldn't have traded them for anything in the world!

@Shirley I hope you meant Abhi and not Keshav 😃. Please correct the typo. 😆. Now you have closed this and I need to think how to handle the changed equation .

Shirley loved your upddate.. Prathiba Bua is just like coconut haha.. andar se mom bahar se kadak.. She's unintentionally funny.. I liked how Abhi helped her with something of his own accord.. waise what changed equation of Radhika and Keshav are you both discussing Shruthi?
