Karishma Randhiva who plays the vivacious Dollie on the STAR Plus show Hello Dollie hails from Chandhigarh. Her staying back in Mumbai was incidental when a couple of years back she was here for a friend's birthday party. She happened to audition for Balaji Telefilms and bagged the role. After that, there was no looking back. Although she misses her family, she says Mumbai is the city of dreams and keeps pulling her back.
But Sumeet Sachdev who is famous for the character Gautam 'Gomzi' Virani he plays in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has a different story to narrate.
Sumeet, who is from Delhi, was here in aamchi Mumbai with a theatre group. The group performed over a period of six months, but he struck a chord with the city and the rest is history.
For him, Mumbai is where his heart is despite the dilapidated state of roads and the mounting pollution, the energy level and the spirit of the city is what makes it irresistible.
When asked how often does he visits his hometown Delhi, he answered that he hasn't been there for the last two years!
Chocolate-boy, Amit Sadh, is yet another contestant in Nach Baliye, simply adores the city. After his schooling in Lucknow and growing up in Delhi, it is Mumbai that has helped him earn his bread and butter. It is also here that he found the biggest joy of his life, Neeru Bajwa, his companion in Nach Baliye and soon-to-be wife. For him, Mumbai is undoubtedly the best city.
Despite the varied backgrounds, despite varied tastes, it's the glitzy world of television and more importantly, the pulsating spirit of a city like Mumbai that has brought these people together.
