So far, the entire Armaan Riddhima love story has been resting on these three words- OR the lack of them! Since forever our wonderboy Armaan is trying to get Riddhima to say the three magic words or atleast acknowledge to the fact that the second one exists in some form or another. What is it about human nature that one must word ones emotions so precisely, mostly in this very format, for it to be considered true and existing? Must the words be the inevitable consequence of romantic love? Why does it always come down to 'I love you'? Do actions, expressions, emotions not suffice?
The answer apparently is no, for these words are representative of commitment. Once said, there is no reverting back. No denying, no disowning and no backing out., which explains why our lead pair is reluctant to say so clearly.
Riddhima 'maine jisse bhi pyaar kiya usne mujhe dhoka diya, papa, nani, tum ' (or something similar, after her adoption thing). That wasnt sufficient. Her reluctance however, is understandable after the 2 incidents of so-called 'dhoka 'from armaan. Scared to even admit to herself that despite those incidents- she still loves him. And she hates herself for doing that, hence the crying. I feel after today Riddhima has somehow redeemed her character a bit, as we forget the cheap allegations she placed on armaan just a few days back!
Armaan today 'duniya mein sabse jyada jisne tumhe pyaar kiya vo tumhare saamne khada hai'. Insufficient, or rather, it didnt have the kind of impact I was hoping it would. What would have pleased everyone is if that was followed by a 'haan riddhima, main tumse itna pyaar karta hoon, jitna tum soch bhi nahin sakti, i love you' yet, he's actually busy trying to convince her to speak up. Maybe its because he hasnt ever been this committed ever before and is afraid to say it? Shouldn't that compel him to say them even more? Or that he has said it meaninglessly so many times earlier- it will actually have a demeaning effect on the intensity of love he feels for her?
Also another afterthought....how far is this from reality? I am inexperienced in this matter so I ask you. Are these words actually as important as shown on television/films- or can we actually do without them?
Oh lord, have written a lot. Well hopefully its appreciated, Do reply with views!
