It's quite striking to watch Shivaay-Anika settle so comfortably into the dynamic of partners in the course of this track😆.
On one level, there can be questions about WHY Anika feels the need to distract him from his troubles, worry that he hasn't eaten...on another level, these questions just don't matter...because they have remarkably managed to establish an inevitability about their dynamic...a dynamic where they are beyond questions of what, when, why?
Is this a friendship? Is this a marriage? Is this a truce? Is this attraction,...or is this love? Maybe it's all of the above...or none of it😆...and an entity unto it's own.
I can't even quite put my finger on it but somehow this Anika touches my heart with her ability to be immensely soft and compassionate in the way she talks to him, without being a cliched/mahaan kind of thing...perhaps it's the softness in Surbhi's tone when she plays this version of Anika that I quite like too...when both Shivaay and Anika talk to each other in these soft tones...clearly expressing what they are thinking, they manage to create a cocoon of their own intimate world where none of the existing rules, norms, matter...where it's just the two of them communicating.
Today, the button scene was my absolute favorite for the fine line they managed to straddle between so many emotions...Anika's perceptiveness, that sweet yet straightforward way she has of doing things...where there is no awkwardness or hesitation in taking over the task of buttoning up his shirt and calmly asking him not to worry...as if they've been together for 20 years in this marriage😆...then I remember this is the same girl who even before they were married was fixing his Om wala wig with such confidence and right as if she'd been handling him since years😆.
Only these two can manage to turn a cliched button sewing scene on it's head...hahaha Anika started it with trying to comfort him, then switched gears into comedy with the button coming off and them squabbling over her ability to thread a needle, actually sew a button...and before they know it, Mr. SSO has managed to not just thread the needle but sew the button on HIMSELF🤣...well there's something I've never seen before...hero ne khud hi apna button sew kar liya and heroine ke upar point score kar liya in what's usually a cliched "romantic" situation...instead these two were just mega cute in this scene😆...also nice to see that Shivaay realized what she was trying to do by the end of it in distracting him in her own Anika way...the way there is a gradual growth in them understanding each other is nice to watch.
Then the plate throwing scene...again, it may have been just put in for the random Tabasco sauce clue😆...but I liked it for the TONE in which Shivaay-Anika talk to each other...the softness in Anika's tone is just so lovely...Surbhi has a beautiful voice. Now I'm sure people can interpret this scene as being doormat-ish but I think the larger picture here is that Anika gives him immense understanding when he is at his most vulnerable...where her own heart expands to take in whatever turmoil is going on inside him...she could sense his agitation and her only goal was to soothe that away because she knows he is in the right here. They added an important touch with Shivaay getting over his flash burst of anger when he threw the plate to kneeling down and calmly asking her why she wasn't listening to him when he said he wanted to be alone...jo yeh ek moment tha of such soft and frank communication...it spoke volumes about the subtext in their relationship...beyond the surface level stress of this Tia issue or the anger that led to the plate being tossed...they are reaching out to each other and are no longer hiding behind the smokescreens they had constructed in b/w.
Anika is steadfastly standing with him right now and he's moved by it...he sounds out all his thoughts in front of her...the stress, the confusion, the doubts...and she patiently listens and offers him sound advice as a partner, a counselor...and he has subconsciously started to rely on the value of her advice, her support.
Pinky...no comments😆😆...I've never seen this baby crazy a saas in any show...she's utterly lost her marbles😆...
A rare bit today where they managed to give Shivaay SOME standing in the way he curtly told everyone to back off cuz it's his life and he'll make his decision in his own time😆...and his TELLING silence when Pinky was determined to make him sign the divorce papers...lol bilkul mann nahin hai iska.
Precap...W*F is Anika wearing😆😆...good god, the horrors are never ending...hahaha...random Kajra re? Ok chalo bring it on😆😆...ab OmRu toh hain nahin to do random item dances with Shivaay so Anika has to shoulder the burden of that expectation😆
