So as was implied from the beginning, Ishqbaaaz is loosely based off the Ramayana.
The promised Vanvaas track only serves to confirm this. If we think character-wise, then as of yet, it seems that Shivaay represents Ram, Omkara represents Bharat, and Rudra represents Lakshman. During Ganesh Chathurthi, Annika mentions said characters too, which seems like a nod from the CVs in the Ramayana direction.

These all make sense.
Ram (Shivaay) is known for his heroism, while Bharat (Omkara) is often said to be even more virtuous and idealistic than Ram. Lakshman (Rudra) on the other hand, always has a slight lean towards Ram, and is seen always being loyal to him.
Sita (Annika) is the epitome of self-sacrifice, purity and courage, and Mandavi (Om's lead) and Urmila (Saumya) are either distant cousin (Om's lead), or sister (in Urmila's case) of Sita. This kind of addresses the long-lost sister track that we were all hoping for. Urmila (Saumya), is also known for her kindness, maturity and patience.
The relationships between said characters seem to make sense as well; for example, Rudra's love for Annika mirrors Lakshman's protection and loyalty towards Sita.
The characters all seems to be loose portrayals of the original characters; even the villains.
Bear with me, this is about to get really far-fetched!
Now, a main part of the Ramayana was the Vanvaas, and its aftermath. I don't want to get into the Ram-Bharat-Lakshman angle that much, apart from the fact that predictably, it will be Shivaay that leaves, and Omkara is left to take care of the Oberoi empire. If the Ramayana parallel is legit and will be followed, than Rudra, too, will leave with Shivaay.
The home front and the aftermath is what I really want to look at. While Ram is gone, Lakshman draws a protective boundary around Sita and tells her not to leave it. Kind-hearted Sita though, is lured out by Raavan and is abducted. Now let's just say, in terms of Ishqbaaaz, that Daksh is Raavan. Consequently, he tries to advance upon her, but she refuses. Eventually she gets rescued - you know the drill.
What I'm trying to point out is, that, doesn't this all sound familiar?
Was the ONS misunderstanding, and the kidnapping after it a deliberate homage to Sita's purity trial? Shivaay's misunderstanding mirrors Ram's, Annika's survival from the water-tank drowning could represent the trial by fire.
It's quite far-fetched, but I just found the parallel quite interesting.
If this is not a reflection from Sita's agnipariksha in the Ramayana, does that mean that there may be a possibility that we will see something like this in the future, after the Vanvaas?
Anyhow, this only serves to heighten my excitement for the promised Vanvaas track!
