Loved how today they showed a sequence that portrayed the stark difference between the singhania's and the goenka's. The singhania's are a family and relationship oriented family who are both religious but are more open-minded in worldly affairs and issues, whereas the goenka's are very modern in all their approach yet are seen as being very religious. The funny thing is that the religious aspect of both the families holds a different meaning for both families; the singhania's are spiritual and believe in god doing good and justice to their family and their love for god is unconditional, whereas the goenka's come across more superstitious than spiritual and worship as a means of seeking protection. One practises religion out of love and the other with the expectaton of being blessed with something in return. Even worship seems like some insurance scheme for these goenka's š¤£
Singhania's: The dining table is the one place and time of day when the entire family gets together everyday, so they choose to use that time to interact with one another. For them relationships and principles matter much more over anything and money is secondary to all that, especially as they maintain good healthy ties with business associates. Charity should come from the heart as they believe, and shouldn't be done with the intention of seeking a reward or praise in return.
Goenka's: Their belief in setting rules and boundaries is even seen at the dining table; despite it being the only time of the day where they all sit down together, they don't talk apart from about work-related issues in the name of etiquettes. Relationships and business have no correlation and neither will they ever allow the two to mix with one another as they believe that money is more important than maintaining healthy relationships. Charity for the Goenka's is a means of maintaining an image in society and for them is like a business investment where instead of expecting a monetary reward they expect respect and an amplified position in society in return for their monetary provisions.
