Kangana mayb have many flaws but IMO you became feminist by actions and not speeches.
Feminism at its core is about woman acting as an independent individual not bound by gender boundaries. And Kangana's independent actions and approach towards work and everything means she is actually a true feminist.
Note: A person being bad and stupid has nothing to do with her standing as a feminist.

It is as genuine/fake as the 'misunderstood and golden hearted hero' image created by Salman, 'family man/one woman man' image created by SRK, 'perfectionist who cares for social causes' image created by Aamir, 'reluctant star with no PR who only loves acting' image created by Ranbir, 'flamboyant and best boyfriend in the world' image created by Ranveer', 'disciplined virgin who loves everyone' image created by Deepika, 'dignified star who never speaks ill about anyone' image created by Katrina, 'misfit who is straightforward and doesn't give an eff about pleasing anyone in Bollywood' image created by Anushka, 'ditsy, adorable, poor lil lamb who is as good as Meryl Streep' image created by Alia/KJo etc. etc. 😆

She is just using whatever she can to get ahead (like most people - male or female). She plays a feminist winner when it works and a helpless girl victim when that works. She doesn't stick to one narrative so people think she's genuine and truthful instead of manipulative and impulsive. Even when caught red handed lying and victimizing others she gets a pass for being "real". She is the Donald Trump of BW.

From her life story genuine, but she is also manipulative. Both are not mutually exclusive.

Its genuine...I am no fan of hers but I have to admit her constant rants in the media has done more good for women in BW than all those lily white types like Anushka, Deepika, Katrina, Sonam, Alia who try to project a feminist image but only conform to 70 year old notions about what women should be. Since Kangana started it I see more BW women speaking up for themselves. Few years ago could you imagine someone like Tapsee calling out nepotism? Outsiders like Tapsee for instance Preity Zinta when asked about casting couch and nepotism back in the day would pretend all is nice like a Rajshri film in BW.

She does seem to have fought a lot, to reach where she is... and speaking about it (if it actually has happened) isn't wrong. If that makes her feminist then so be it.
But I consider an actual feminist who thinks of Women as equal to Men, not above men. And most of the times her speeches sounds like that. Esp when she cries her woman card for unfairness.

Does that make sense ?

Feminism firstly, is a largely misunderstood concept. Feminism as it famously exists today, popularised by social media and self-righteous people has it's foundation on that misunderstood concept.

And whenever she tries to be or is feminist, it turns me off.

I will not go into feminism and the meaning of it, it'll be an unnecessary digression.

PS --- The only thing I found really genuine is differences in pay-scales, other than that, nope.
