I might write, but I dont think I can become a director: Anushka

Last year, she turned producer with the path-breaking NH10. And now, Anushka Sharma is set to do an encore with Phillauri. Ask the producer' if direction is on her mind, and she says, "I don't think so. I might write, but I don't think I have it in me to [become a director]. I've never felt like that. Shots hi nahi lagane aate, kya karungi main direct (I don't know how to set up shots, so, how will I direct)? However, I really think that I'd like to write."

The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor feels she knows how to prioritise her life and keep it simple. "Since I'm not thinking about other people (competitors, etc.), it helps me be more constructive and take better decisions. Anyway, I am a simple person and not complex, so that's why I keep things simple around me too. So, it becomes easier to do things," she says, adding that 2016 has been "very hectic".

Sticking to her guns

"I didn't even realise that it has gone so fast. Shooting three films and promoting one of them in a year is a lot; plus, I was producing films too. So, your mental space is even more involved in your work. That way, it's been a very eventful year," she says.Since her debut with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), Anushka has stuck to her guns and made comparatively fewer and different choices. "But a lot of times, people and even situations, will try to shake your faith. Also, you might not be in a good place in your career, and then you start doubting your choices, but you have to stick to your stand. Since I didn't doubt myself at those times, it paid off in the long run," she says.

Money matters

Not any know that, in 2016, Anushka's films (Sultan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) made the maximum money in 2016. "I feel happy and content that the films made that kind of money, and that they have been watched by so many people. Obviously, it's a great feeling and to have that twice in a year, in such a huge manner makes you feel fantastic," she says.

Anushka adds that to have a role like Aarfa, along with Salman Khan, in Sultan, which also did big business, only substantiates the choices that she has made. "I am happy that 2016 turned out the way it did. It has been a very eventful and an amazing year in terms of the films that I have shot for, and also my next production (Phillauri). When I look back, I obviously feel happy," says the actor.
