NETFLIX TO SUE SANJAY GUPTA'S HRITHIK ROSHAN-STARRER KAABIL

American streaming and production giant Netflix is suing the Sanjay Gupta directorial for plagiarising one of their originals.

Hrithik Roshan's upcoming film, the Sanjay Gupta-directed action-thriller Kaabil, has landed in fresh trouble with American entertainment streaming company and production giant, Netflix, suing the filmmakers for plagiarising one of their original productions, Daredevil, directed by Drew Goddard and based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.

A source close to the development informed Mirror that they have noted glaring similarities between the series and the Hrithik-starrer. "Protagonists of both the productions are blind while even the action sequences look the same. The colour schemes are also similar. This has upset Netflix and they will be taking legal action against Rakesh Roshan's FilmKraft Productions and Sanjay Gupta's White Feature Films," the source adds.

Also featuring Yami Gautam, actor-brothers Rohit and Ronit Roy, Kaabil has been in the news owing to an impending box-office clash with Rahul Dholakia's Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees. Two of the most anticipated releases of the year, both films are slated for release on the Republic Day weekend.

Incidentally, SRK's production house Red Chillies Entertainment has announced a threeyear deal with Netflix, in which films produced under the banner will be available for viewing to exclusive subscribers in India as well as worldwide.

When contacted, Publicis Consultants Asia, the official publicity partner for Netflix, informed Mirror, "Netflix has no comments to share at the moment."

It was so obvious from the trailer and posters it was blatantly copied🤣

"Sanjay Gupta, the director of the film, however, slammed the similarities, "It is a preposterous comparison because Hrithik is not a superhero in Kaabil. His character is that of a blind man who does what he does best. In Daredevil, the protagonist fights 30 people at a time. None of that is happening in Kaabil. If they sue us, we'll definitely fight back,"

Also Hrithik's name is Rohan Bhatnagar and Ben Affleck's name is Matt Murdoch, Daredevil takes place in NYCity and Kaabil I am assuming in an Indian City... So the comparison is prepostetous

I am sure he can handle this

According to Wikipedia both the leads are blind yet somehow fall in love

It was expected.. Sanjay Gupta is the king of plagiarism.. None of the movies he has directed so far are original, All were plagiarized..

OMFG! My sis was joking about daredevil people suing them and it actually happened! LOL! But taking a general idea is not the same as copying! Don't think they will be in trouble!

the film has not been released yet, and people are sure its copied 😆.. Once a SRK is always a SRK, so no wonder he had a deal with Netflix
